The Prelude race car has replaced the CTR race car. The Prelude race car is using a two litter engine.

The video below shows the red Honda symbol on the Prelude race car.

Does it means that Honda is planing to replace the CTR FL5 by a new Prelude Type r?

The CTR GT wasnt keeping up with cars like the supra gt and Nissan z gt, rear something about its aerodynamic design hitting its limit since the design of the car needed to be at least somewhat like the production model.

The 2025 FL5 was announced in August of 2024 and released shortly thereafter, same with pretty much every MY before that. The fact that we are now in October and there hasn't been a word, spyshot, or anything on the 2026 seems to be pretty telling.

If 2025s still have ETAs and arriving at lots then what did that screenshot mean? It clearly doesn't mean 2026s are incoming

What is there to announce? the only thing changing is the MSRP. An announcement would only come out when they no longer produce it. SImilar to how the first time most people knew the Acura ZDX was a thing was when it got cancelled.

I mean sure, but they’ve literally announced every other model year thus far, why not the 2026?

Honda releases an official announcement of new model year introductions even when it is a carryover. They had an official announcement for both MY 24 and 25 including pricing and EPA ratings with the sales brochure.

It is kind of odd if there is indeed going to be a 2026. Honda could have just announce the 2026 in August like any other years and increase the MSRP at that time. Why would they give up making extra money for all those units shipped after August? :dunno:

There could be tons of reasons, but technically speaking there is nothing stopping Honda from doing a pricing update mid year anyway. They bumped destination charges in January of 2025 unannounced.

Honestly I think they are going to keep pumping out 2025s, and they will either announce an end of year LE- or something more radical like a 26 Prelude Type R.

It is odd for Honda to wait this long for any type of announcement. I mean, we live in odd times considering Tariffs/Inflation. Honda has their reasons.

Objectively, we know a few things:

1. As of today, MY25’s are still being sold and shipped over from Japan.
2. No official announcement has been made.
3. We are in year 3 of the FL5 CTR model run.
4. We have a screenshot from some insider showcasing possible MY26 existence.
5. “Regular” 2026 Civics are currently being sold and produced without any major changes.

Based on these objective points any possible MY26 FL5 will be a carryover model if there is any.
Also, a change in MSRP is almost certain given inflation/tariffs.

My pipe dream, a phoenix yellow final edition of MY26, but I have a feeling we will get something close to the “Black Edition” being currently sold in Japan as a farewell.

If you consider Australia as "Asia"
I can confirm that Honda Australia has confirmed 2025 will be the last.
Where did you hear this? I haven't heard anyone from Australia mention this?

The only hint pointing towards this is that the second hand market for these went up.
