Honda began taking orders today (albeit limited) on the Racing Black Package in Japan again following its suspension these last few months. Its price has gone up about 3% as well.

I’ve been ridiculed for years on here and elsewhere by a bunch of clowns because I kept saying there would be another year of the FL5 Type R. Back in 2023 people swore there wouldn’t be a 2024. Then they doubled down and said no 2025 either. And every time, they were wrong.

The truth is a lot of people just want to feel good about their own purchase. They hype up the idea that they got the “last” model year so they can feel special. It’s nothing but ego.

Meanwhile there was zero evidence that FL5 production was ending. None. The whole argument was hearsay and wishful thinking. First it was Europe’s emissions nonsense (as if that means the rest of the world automatically loses too). Wrong. Plenty of cars have been killed off in Europe but kept alive elsewhere. Then came the Japan noise regulation excuse… more blah blah blah.

I’ve said all along these doomsayers were out of touch with reality. Shame on them. ICE sports cars aren’t vanishing overnight. Non-hybrid performance models will keep coming for at least the next 5 to 10 years because the ridiculous EV mandates are being walked back. Toyota is literally developing a new high strung 4-banger right now and will be building sporty ICE engines through at least 2030.

Looking at how things are trending, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 2027 FL5 Type R, maybe as an LE or something similar.

Good point. People want to feel better about their purchase. Of course it’s cool to think about owning a limited production future-collector’s car.

Meanwhile, I’m thinking about if my shit gets totaled while also being a limited run, I don’t want to be SoL with inflated prices or rare parts. Make more of them! This car is so damn good that regardless of what happens I’ll always want to be in one.

Hey guys, Just looked back to 2024 and saw that we got shipping dates for 2025 MY back in August of 2024. You Think they’re taking longer to ship due to a midlife refresh? Also I saw that the Prelude is being built at the same plant that Type R is built. Wonder if that might effect things to.

If your car gets totaled you can just jump ship to the Integra Type S.. Personally I wouldnt want to - I would rather stay with the Civic. Finding one used is always an option.

Yeah that could be. I was just wondering about any in transit also. What's weird is there is still no official announcement or update on Honda's site. There is usually some newsroom article that comes out.

Again that could also be related to the spotlight they want to put on the Prelude.

Just figured they would at least update their site by now.

Nothing on sale, no announcements, no allocations. While lotta nothing so far.

Also important to note there's still no confirmation on 2026 CTR. The inventory screenshot shown previously doesn't really mean much, and I haven't heard of any other dealerships confirming they saw a listing. Not saying it's a hoax, just there isn't anything to back it up as a for sure thing *yet*. I'm hoping that we get something, but so far nothing.

Past 2 years Honda has made official announcements around mid to late October.
