yeah, well, even though Audi is VW, the integra doesn't compete whatsoever with those. Especially with a CVT transmission :)

I mean the sales numbers look like it generally outsells the A3 and CLA combined, so I feel like it’s not doing too bad? Isn’t it Acura’s biggest seller right now?
It is Acura's biggest seller at the moment but it still doesn't move the needle in terms of overall brand cache and market share. The TLX was outselling the 3 series and C class for a time but look where it ended up.

The Integra is how they get people to buy into the brand as an entry level model, so they need something to hold down that end

2025: MDX 40,000+, RDX 30,000+, ADX 20,000+, integra 20,000+ (17% reduction from 2024)

and TLX: 8000+, only 2 trim levels, no program support for 2 years....

I'm assuming it's still being made in Japan because:

1). Brand Identity & Pride, Type-R being Japanese and made in Japan is important to Honda's identity and heritage. Yes the previous turbo type-rs were made in England but that's because they were greenlit and developed in England by Honda UK.

2). The plants that would be able to make it arepretty much at capacity, in Ohio where the ITS is made makes a bunch of other models including some Acuras. The plant in Canada where Civics are made also would require tooling updates in order to make the FL5. The only plant with available capacity is PMC but they're currently contracted to make hydrogen CRVs so they would have to complete those before moving onto the FL5 and anything being made at that plant is generally expensaive because that plant has less automation than there other plaants.
If the ITS is on its way out like @TypeRbuilder mentioned, it would make sense to make the new fl5s there.

Ofc that's assuming the stuff about pride and heritage don't play a factor. There's just too many what ifs rn imo

The more I look at the HRC concept, I think it’s the facelift. If you look at the front bumper, the lip extends further and the surround around the lower intake portion is different. I think maybe the little upper canards might also be built in. I also notice that all the windows are blacked out, which I assume is to hide interior changes. If it wasn’t the facelift, there would be no need to camouflage it, they didn’t camouflage the ITS HRC concept.
Would also explain the camo lol

If that's the facelift then I don't feel like I'm missing out at all 😅

I saw a story today that ALL of the Type R/Type S are done. Japan emission restrictions, euro emission restrictions, etc. So they'll make a 26, but no changes that I can imagine... This year may be the end of both.

I don't know about the whole pride and heritage part. They did make the FK8 in the UK.

I noticed that slight difference too…which makes me wonder if they are doing something to improve airflow and it’s not just an aesthetic change. The canards, I kinda doubt those will be part of the facelift, but I could see them as an HRC add-on for sure.

So not sure if it was covered, but there is no plan to "sell" a HRC Integra....it's just a show piece for "Factory" add-on's. Which will be SHOCKINGLY expensive! LOL

They actually made the EP3, FN2, FK2 and FK8. That's a lot of Type R lineage in the UK.
Yeah, Japan and UK had ALL the cool Type R's over the decades....that are now worth a fortune! Someone just sold a Integra Type R, yellow, 4800 miles.....$208,000! LOL I was looking for one but stopped when they were selling for $50,000+ with 'eh' miles on them

It exists and looks to be able to persist. That is only a good thing.
I love my current car. I loved my old 993. Great cars don't get diminished by new models. The FK8 is a great car....totally different look but still great. These cars are wonderful (FL5) but I can think of some slight tweaks to the rear wheel arches that would make it even better looking. etc.

If that's the case, outside of the front and rear fascia, it's completely useless lol. I don't think the average CTR driver is watching videos or even wants the Google built in.

USB is nice though, but I wouldn't kill for it, USB A is more universal anyways.

I imagine the big selling point will be the increased airflow in the new bumper.
Um, I have a 2 dollar usb C adapter from amazon in my usb A port....works just fine. I don't get the issue.
