  1. Fake engine noise defeat-ed!

I don’t think there is any actual “pumped-in” sound from the car. I’m convinced it’s ALL fake…unless there’s a tiny cow in there with a microphone.
  2. Civic Type R refresh / facelift confirmed for 2026

I noticed that slight difference too…which makes me wonder if they are doing something to improve airflow and it’s not just an aesthetic change. The canards, I kinda doubt those will be part of the facelift, but I could see them as an HRC add-on for sure.
  3. 2027 Type R update

I dunno either. Delays could’ve happened for a number of reasons, but it does make sense that there would be a changeover period, which might’ve slowed production for a bit. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was a factor, among others.
  4. 2027 Type R update

There’s really nothing to interpret in their wording. Even the title of the press release is “American Honda Offers Outlook on 2026 U.S. Automobile Business.”
  5. 2027 Type R update

Assuming the changes happen for 2026, it is safe to assume there will be a 2027 (which would also have the updates). It wouldn’t make sense to update 1 MY. As @AspecR has said many times, since the beginning, Honda has said the FL5 will have a 5 year production run. So far this has held true. I...
  6. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

This is the 2026 “speculation” thread. LOL!
  7. Interior noises - rattles, creaks, squeaks!

Likely the common seatbelt “buzz.” I’ve found that all I need to do is push down on the seat belt height adjuster (so the mechanism sits more tightly in the housing) and the buzz goes away. I might have to do it again several months later, which is fine compared to it buzzing almost every time I...
  8. Does lug nut length matter?

No downsides that I can think of. Looks are a matter of taste of course.
  9. Does lug nut length matter?

The focus is thread engagement because if you don’t have an enough, then the wheels can loosen from the hub and eventually come off. Both the studs and lug nuts need to be long enough to get a safe number of turns of thread engagement to hold the wheels to the hub. The seat design doesn’t...
  10. Ambient Light Interior Fuse

Cool! Good to know I wasn’t imagining things. I would think that adding ambient dash lights could easily be connected the same way. Your footwell lights stayed on, even after closing the doors, right?
  11. Ambient Light Interior Fuse

I think @Chilly613 or someone else here posted a how-to on adding interior lighting by tieing it into the footwell lighting, but my memory is foggy.
  12. 2026 Type R FL5 price rises to $46,895 ($48,090 after destination charge)

Yep. $5k ADM was considered quite reasonable in 2022/2023. That has held true as MSRP continues to increase and dealers are still getting away with some ADM and/or “mandatory” add-ons in most cases. Congrats to those who have gotten their cars at MSRP and ZERO add-ons!
  13. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

    Source?:bat::rofl:
  14. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

Well, they have incentive to play the clueless card as it greatly helps keep the ADM card in play…as we’ve seen.
  15. And so it begins: "Maiden" voyage!

No need to piss in anyone’s Cheerios. Lol! I mean…it’s not like it’s a fake FL5 or something. It obviously fit the rules, so it can’t be too different from the production car. AND they did build and sell a certain number of limited S-Grade FL5’s in Europe to satisfy the rules as well. Did the...
  16. Catastrophic oil leak - I am freaking out

That’s kinda the weird thing about this. OP said he drove ~3000 miles with it with no problem. In that time, if the filter wasn’t seated, wouldn’t it have been leaking (leaving drops of oil in the driveway) prior to this full-on oil explosion? Let’s say the filter was loose, but tight enough...
  17. Catastrophic oil leak - I am freaking out

What? Who’s insufferable? This isn’t even an oil or filter thread…so why argue any of that here? Have some self awareness, dude. All you’re doing is thread jacking. In fact, your example regarding accidentally dbl gasketing the filter on your SRT4 is the VERY FIRST TIME you’ve said anything...
  18. Catastrophic oil leak - I am freaking out

Yeah. In this case it doesn’t seem that OP improperly installed the filter. He said he drove like 3000 mi on it without issue. If it was improperly installed, I think he would’ve seen drops of oil on the ground at some point before this oil explosion. It’s such an odd thing.
  19. Catastrophic oil leak - I am freaking out

Give it a rest. Any arguing about oil and oil filters in this thread is really stupid. OP has a potentially dead engine due to what seems to be a fluke. This is literally the first time I’ve read of an oil filter catastrophically failing. No, I’m not obsessed with Bob the Oil Guy and maybe this...
  20. Catastrophic oil leak - I am freaking out

You done, Bob? The thread jacking was tiring 2 pages ago.:banghead:
