I think the highest Ive seen shifting out of first and hitting redline is 34mph, but I also use the sound queues and not my eyes to shift.
I've never actually shifted the car into first slowing down since I turned off rev match, and I'd rather not test it either lol
I've had the clunk since day one and had it up on th lift at a friend's house. We turned off the car and moved the wheels that way (ie: no power steering) and were able to isolate it to the universal joints. The thing is my car always had that noise and it seems a lotta people's type Rs also...
Yeah I think that's about the only time I've done it, but I've also never been downshifting into 1st other than to get moving again. I think I used it once or twice when I was learning stick, shifting into 1st to decelerate that is.
Isn't that bad practice to shift into first anyways? You should be able to slow down enough in 2nd+brake. Only time you'd need first is going from a crawl/stop to go (or on stop and go traffic).
I bought the car with wireless charging, I'm gonna use the wireless charging, even if it fries my phone!
Honestly I don't care either way, USB A makes it backwards compatible with older stuff. If I really cared about faster charging in the car, I wouldn't use the ports.
I leave it off because I want to get better at rev matching, I think it's a skill that makes it more fun to drive the car. Also it makes it much easier to be a good driver, so having it off is more fun for me.
Me and some buddies threw mine up on the lift and the sound was firmly coming from the interior, so your problem might be different from mine and others. I know there was someone else on the thread who also had suspension issues like yours.
If the ITS is on its way out like @TypeRbuilder mentioned, it would make sense to make the new fl5s there.
Ofc that's assuming the stuff about pride and heritage don't play a factor. There's just too many what ifs rn imo
I think the timing in general for everything has been way off. It really could've been that the type r was slated to end, but the reversal on emissions laws likely led Honda to give the CTR a little more life.
It's not selling in Europe or Japan afaik, so there's the chance they move production...
The fake engine sound has kinda grown on me. It's still annoying in first gear, but when it's subtle enough it doesn't sound bad.
I don't know if it's the case on the FL5, but I know a lot of the other fake engine sounds are actually just piped in from the engine and made louder. If that's the...
Imo the 9inch touchscreen and the built in Google is pretty mediocre. I actually like the smaller screen in the sport trims better than even the one in our cars currently. Much more simple.
If the display was really responsive then it'd be a different story.
If that's the case, outside of the front and rear fascia, it's completely useless lol. I don't think the average CTR driver is watching videos or even wants the Google built in.
USB is nice though, but I wouldn't kill for it, USB A is more universal anyways.
I imagine the big selling point...
If it's just a bumper change and something like updated infotainment, I won't care much.
Now if there's a bump on horsepower, then I'd be interested in what they did and how.
