I agree. I sold my 2024 CW FL5 with 11,000 miles to Carmax for 44,500. This was in August 2025. I presume the relatively high inventory of FL5’s have driven down demand. I’m sure it will pick up eventually.
That’s the big question we all have. IMO is that they will sunset the car soon. I still have hope that we will get a final edition, but even if we get one it will be in extremely limited numbers. If you want a Type R, I would say buy one now.
December 16, 2025… no news.
-2025’s are still being built and delivered from Japan.
-No NHTSA VIN registration certificate for 2026 FL5 as of today.
- everything else has been speculation so far.. so called “insiders” are apparently not really on the “inside”
I don’t follow as well. 26’s are already being sold in 2025. In September we will start seeing 27’s sold. Also, the FL5 is on year 3 of its model run so far.
Makes me think that this is the end of production for the FL5. I’m more confused as to why Honda wouldn’t announce this or give the US a final edition of sorts by now.
So production of MY25 FL5 is currently ranging from 8/2024-11/2025. That is a 15 month production run of the MY25 FL5. @roastduck correct me if I’m wrong please. Also, have you seen an extended production run like this of the CTR 2017-2024?
My source is a good guy and I’ve known him a bit. He was skeptical like most of us are. He wouldn’t just lie through his teeth. With that said, you guys are entitled to your opinions of course. I was really hoping for a phoenix yellow final edition…
You make sense, maybe it will show up next month at some point. I’m just relaying info from a reputable source at a dealership. He had a direct conversation with someone in corporate.
