Where did you hear this? I haven't heard anyone from Australia mention this?

The only hint pointing towards this is that the second hand market for these went up.
I was sitting across the desk from the Dealer Principal at my dealership, when he was told this by someone at Honda Australia.
I guess that doesn't make it "true", but that's 100% what happened.. He was definitely told this by someone at Honda Corporate while I was right there.

Thats interesting, I remember before buying mine, Honda was trying their best to sell 2023 models by making them cheaper as they were just sitting there. Was still too expensive for me so I settled for a second hand one with only 4000km on it for $62000AUD, probs could of talked the owner down more :)

I am just curious... Has anyone called their local Honda dealer and just asked a salesperson "Can I order a 2026 civic type R yet?" to see what they say? My local dealer has two 25's priced at $53.5k.

There's no point. They don't know any more than we do.

Interestingly, the 9/30 updated on MotoringObsession website published ~85 new in transit units. However, last night's weekly refresh only published 16 new in-transit units. That is quite a week to week variance. Perhaps the 2025s are finally done, though the last time I thought that, there was 2 weeks of no shipments, followed by 1000+ new shipments in the following weeks after that.

Since the 2020 refresh wasn't made public by Honda until November/December 2019, I still think it is not totally unusual to not have heard anything yet about the 2026s. We should know soon at this point

I'd be genuinely surprised by a refresh, less so by a limited edition sendoff. I just dont see them refreshing a car they can only sell in one region.

Only way they'll do that is if its selling only in Japan 😂

While the FK8 refresh wasn’t sold until the November/December timeframe there were camouflaged spy photos from testing released in the May. Since there’s been no spy photos from track testing I believe there won’t be a refresh.

It really does feel like these are the very last true Type R.

Glad I could finally get one brand new; break her in proper before they’re gone

I bet they will carry the Type R badge over to the Prelude, and Si version too. Look for 2027 on that

This is to say nothing of the fact that they still have the Integra Type S available, and she has HRC options coming soon too

What are they going to do, move production to a new plant that doesn’t have the “J” VIN? I feel like I got one of the last true Type R.

At a huge loss, remember. Even at 15% tariffs Honda isn't making any money on Type Rs.
The tariffs aren't actually as bad as it sounds. 50% of the car is using US parts. So $45k invoice, x50%x15% is under $4k in tariffs. Its not nothing but its not $10-15k either like some thought.

Suppose a part, say a radiator, is made in the US. That manufacturer likely imported raw materials or even a mostly finished product to the US, and is paying a tariff on it. Now that Honda supplier is losing money on the part. How long until parts prices go up? They may have already increased their cost to Honda. These tariffs are so broad, that prices will go up, there's just a lag as companies decide what to do.

You tariff doomers are depressing to watch in action. Everything is FINE, EVERYONE IS FINE. Wars have ended, things are fine. Just stop. Honestly, it's suppressing traffic and taking away from good post content on this site to make everything political.
