seems like the only real solution is to sell you’re very nice CTR. But I understand your concern.

type R’s have always been a target of theft, even though There was only the Integra type R until 2017. The two largest concerns are relay attack to steal your key fob codes and CANbus injection. That’s where they can secretly tap into your headlight wiring. From there they buy a dark market device to access your ECU to start your car and drive it away.

this can seem extreme but I’ve ordered a steering wheel lock and a kill switch for the Integra type S.
The only real solution is to sell the FL5? With all due respect, this is a gross overreaction. Selling the car shouldn't even be on the bingo card. The OP just needs to be mindful of the attention the car generates and behave accordingly. This is part and parcel of owning a car that's highly sought after.

Yeah, I’m sure some attention is expected, but there are admirers that take it way too far. I’m certain some areas of the country are worse than others. I said this before and I’ll say it again : Just don’t engage. If they ride your ass, don’t speed up. They will take this a cue to race. If anything, just go the speed limit or slower if you must. I know this seems counterintuitive, but they will get impatient with going the speed limit and pass you sooner rather than later. Problem averted. I don’t know what’s up with semis and other massive vehicles riding your ass. It pisses me off because a semi would straight up destroy you if you had to suddenly brake. In those cases, depending on how aggressive they are and how busy the road is, I might brake check, downshift, and byeeeee a-hole! Problem averted. ?

sorry lol. I thought the sarcasm would come across better. Absolutely not there is no selling CTR. Too much of a beauty

Thankfully it’s a MT and most people don’t know how to even drive them anymore.
I am in this camp. Shoot, I even leave my car running in parking lots often b/c no one stupid enough to steal it is going to be smart enough to know how to drive it.

I haven’t noticed that issue at all, but I don’t live in a big city. Most people in West Michigan don’t even know what a Type R is.
I'm like 30 minutes from Grand-Rapids and I see quiet a bit of Type-R's, mostly 10th gens almost daily'ish when I do my drives to GR. Seen a couple new gens. But, At least in my area, we sure have a lot of people racing cars around everday. Sitting on the back deck any weekend I hear corvetts and ricers etc just racing around illegally. I don't even own a Type-R, Just a 2022 civic hatch-touring, for over a year. I don't live in the city, pretty rural near the country. and even I have a handful of "unwanted attension" stories. But, I guess being young I dont mind it, I kind play along or just give a wave. In my case I just learned the fact I drive "a civic" and I'm in my 30s, people just see that and automatically assume I'm like tuned/modded and race-me-bro. So countless redlights, if I'm at the front, I've had people come up next to me reving and I'm just kinda rolling my eyes like Bruh..Stock civic..180HP..I aint a fricken Type-R and no, I'm not some 300+HP tuned civic. Had plenty of times I'm just cruizing enjoying the warm weather, 45MPH roads nothing special, and get either a ricer or a WRX or whatever pull up aside be with a BOV revving PSSHHHHHH PSHHHH PSHHHHH and im just like ..what did I do to get this attension? xD And like, to be honest, this only happend ever since I put the HPD Wing on the back of my car. So maybe people are mistaken and see the wing+hatch and think its a R? idk..Stock badges and such..so idk.

Like, I dont hate it. I think its fun/funny. But its like, Its not even a Type-R..so why are mustangs/corvetts/and junkers always coming up trying to entice a race?? I know the car scene is hella crazy in West-Michigan and tons of car shows ranging from antiques, classics, muscle cars, etc. and tons of personally-owned tuning/dyno/modding shops but like..I guess just owning a civic means you want attension. Thankfully never experienced the wheel-rob problem. Saw a lot of posts in the past regaurding touring users getting rims stolen, constantly.

Oh hey. Me too. I see a ton of WRX and VAG cars. BMWs. Lots of Mustangs and Vettes because it’s Michigan. Just glad people around here haven’t started jacking cars for wheels, etc.

I'm closer to Kzoo, but yes to all of this. My s2000 isn't quiet by any means, and that doesn't even get attention.

I am in a decent-sized metro area and thankfully haven't gotten any negative attention yet.

Honestly, based on talk on this site I thought I would be getting a ton of different types of attention and was bracing for it. Outside of a couple passing comments of "I like your car" and one short gas pump conversation I haven't noticed much at all.

I've commented prior on this thread about the unwanted attention my car brings, but recently I've gotten a little more positive attention. More than a few times while at a store or gas station people have come up to me and said how much they like the car, ask questions and tell me it looks cool. The other day going down the road I had a guy in a Porsche give me the big smile and a thumbs up. So it cuts both ways for sure.

I gotta be honest, I did not expect to get the type of attention I've gotten in this car.

A few days ago some clown in a riced out C6 (yes, you read that right) thought he was king redneck and actively went WOT right next to me when I had my windows down. I was stationary waiting to turn left and he was going the opposite direction, so it had nothing to do with how I was driving, or him wanting to race. The car was ridiculously tastelessly modded, but was insanely loud. It legitimately did hurt my ears and they were ringing for 45 minutes afterwards.

Bone stock Acura. WTF.

Nowhere near the same volume and TYPE of attention I got in any of my other sports cars- well, since an S13 I had in the mid-00s. A little bit of it in an STI, and an S3.

I don't think it's that the car is "highly sought after". I think it's at that level of "attainable" but still enthusiast-oriented that attracts riff raff.

10+ years of driving M cars and Porsches, never dealt with any of the type of shit I've had in two months of owning this car.

It's one of the major reasons why I sold my GR Corolla. Aside from hating the cheapness of the whole car, I regularly had teenagers running after me in parking lots, or people in absolute hoopties hanging out of their windows oggling.
