I use a RAM suction mount, and tether it to the mirror with zip ties just in case. Never had it come loose on track.

I think I saw this on Reddit and I got one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074WFNNKY

Used it on my last trackday and I was pretty happy with how it worked. You basically has it wrapped around the harness hole on the seat and I was using it with a GoPro Hero 5 Black...

FWIW, when I tried that I felt like it shook too much for my tastes - it doesn't look too bad from you video but there are definitely some shaky sections.

I messed with a couple different options and ultimately settled on a suction mount from the rear glass with extensions to get the POV I wanted. I run a small strap through the seat passthrough to help stabilize it since it's a pretty long lever arm, but so far it seems to be the best solution, aside from 3D printing a mount that would fit through the passenger seat, which I'm also working on with a friend.

Here's the perspective, I'm happy enough with it that I'll probably just stick with it until I get the time to work on an actual seat mount:

That looks great. How do you get the overlay with speedometer and track map.

I use Racecapture hardware for GPS and basic OBD2 data and an app called Solostorm to record/process/display the data. I export the SoloStorm data and combine it with video in Race Render. Not exactly straightforward but it gives me what I want.

If I were starting over I'd probably get a Racebox mini and use RaceChrono on my phone.

If you use an iPhone, Track Attack! is the app you want to use. Get a bluetooth OBD reader for additional car telemetry. Also, you can use it for street driving unlike other apps. I pair mine with a Raceboox Micro for location accuracy within like 7 inches.

Track Video (FL5):
Street Video (FD RX7):

I did some testing for the developer to see if Bluetooth OBD2 module + the Haltech ECU in my RX would work. It did. App also pairs with Apple Watch for HR monitoring which is super useful. At VIR, my first session is high but by mid day, its drops quite a bit as I get back into the groove.

Yeah I agree with that, I think for my purpose it wasn't bad but it was more of a easiest solution vs the best solution. I wonder if it might do better if running with some kind of vibration reduction function in camera....

Thanks for the info, but my 2025 FL5 does not have an adjustable headrest, and I don't see anywhere else that a clamp mount would work.
The fabric of the seat. I just pinched it.
