The XP20's are like $250 for a front set so while they don't last as long, they aren't stupidly priced. I looked at a Ferodo's but the price was absurd.
For everyone else, this is a running joke (but true) because I like Carbotech pads, which are great, but a front set of XP20s won't last more than 3-4 track days because I am a late and heavy braker. I also prefer to change my track pads at the track and when I leave the track so when we do...
You said you were new to track days so I was trying to provide some friendly advice. You didn't say you had any of that stuff when @TypeRVA mentioned it.
Try being less of a dick. People here are genuinely trying to be helpful.
Do your research on wings, but save your money and spend it on good brake pads, better brake fluid, and come out in May. Add the wing later when you need it. Now if you just want look, send it.
I was focusing on helping you reach your desired outcome. It wasn't an audit. But context matters to help you achieve your goals. BTW, there is no actual placement for HDPE events. Your prize is going home with your car the way you arrived. I only mentioned it to illustrate that aero wasnt...
Let's get to brass tacks then. Your first post was asking all of this, which I totally understand doing your research, because you "want to be competitive at VIR." You still haven't answered my question on your experience at VIR, which I'm asking so we can help you reach your goal of being...
It’s your money but you still haven’t mentioned your lap times at VIR. I’ve done over 1000 miles on the full course and so has @PointByPatrol. Unless you are driving advanced or race, aero is the last thing I’d spend money on for that track on a FL5.

what times are you running at VIR now?
@PointByPatrol has the Adro wing. They once posted (I think on IG) their CFD of their wing but I don’t see it on the product page.
@savagegeese we had a short chat in the comments section on a YouTube video you published a while back (the one about hobbies) about this event. Would be great to see you guys there.
@PointByPatrol has a wing on his car and him and I do VIR multiple times a year.
what do you mean “competitive” at VIR? What lap times are you running now? Are you doing HPDE or actual racing/time trials?
Also, the OEM wing makes actual downforce. The number is right around 200lb @ roughly...
My unit is arriving today. I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares to the DE5 module I currently have in my FL5. I won't be back at VIR until spring/summer (def will be a Type R meetup). I didn't see this video linked in this thread but I found this VERY useful. It's long but good for the...
Where did you get this BBK? Is it specific to the FL5 or did you need some custom machining etc to make it fit? Also saw online that this caliper has dust seals. Have you cooked them yet?
If you don’t track your car and this is purely for “looks”, then no. Save your money. The OEM system is more than capable for street driving without the need to upgrade. That being said, it’s your money. You do you.
I have caliper temp sticker on my front OEM calipers. After a weekend at VIR, it maxed out at about 430F. Being 20 degrees off from the max isn't a lot of leeway. That being said, here is the link:
