I agree, I was lucky that the shop I went to is a great shop, the guy that helped me knew his shit and so I walked out with a proper fitting helmet.

However hard to find a shop even that sells helmets, I had to drive an hour and half but was worth it.
? Ha I shopped while I was in Austin for work and shoved a helmet into my carry on lol Maybe I should have worn it on the plane to break it in!

As someone who rode motorcycles, helmet shape and fit are so important. In the car you don't wear it as long, at least for normal TT/HPDE sessions, so you may get away with something not exact.

I've tried mail order, and I have a oval head which most helmets don't fit well. I had to return helmets like 5x before one fit. Went back to going to local shops at the track or "locally" to fit. The extra cost if there is any is well worth it in comfort and proper fit.

To my fellow egg heads, the Simpson Bandit fits well.

I figured after last weekend I was done for the year, but I decided to do one more track day, and set my Nashville Superspeedway PB by 1.2s, twice! This car with the COBB tune from @JST Performance is so fun the off-season is going to be a real struggle - looking forward to next year!

Here is/are the lap(s):

Driver coaching is so rewarding! Many thanks to Tim for inviting me out! The DE5 is so much more compliant! I'm considering a DE5 ADAS at this point!

Good video, I learned from it. That last session was really great running with the race cars and less traffic. And then suddenly it wasn't great. It was Nice meeting you guys this weekend.

It's still wild that you were right behind the incident while it was happening! That had to have been incredibly scary!
