  5. FL5 Rear Wing Options — Any Real CFD/Wind Tunnel Data Outside Spoon/Mugen?

I plan on instructing for the event, but I've already been requested by another student. I wasn't the only instructor in a Type R last year though. If David is going then I'm sure he could make himself available too, and I'd be willing to guarantee that he is going to be there with all of us! A...

  8. FL5 Rear Wing Options — Any Real CFD/Wind Tunnel Data Outside Spoon/Mugen?

High speed stability was improved, and mid-corner v-min was slightly improved. Some mph was lost in the straights, but I was able to make it up in the corners. It’s a 3” racebred splitter.
  9. FL5 Rear Wing Options — Any Real CFD/Wind Tunnel Data Outside Spoon/Mugen?

I have a front splitter and the ADRO wing. I can’t find the CFD data that ADRO posted anymore either, but I bought the wing for the looks. The splitter has made a noticeable difference though!

Congrats! I hope you can find a way to make it work!
  11. Looking for brake pad recommendations for my usage

I tried to catch an Uber back to the airport from Bello, and the driver attempted to take the "old way" to the airport instead of using the tunnel, and his clutch blew out 1/4 of the way up the pass lol. We had to coast back down to the nearest plaza and find another cab driver. Made my flight...
  12. Looking for brake pad recommendations for my usage

SRF is the longest interval between needed exchanges if I remember correctly, but it sounds like you get your fluid pretty warm, and I just don't think the factory DOT3 or DOT4 varieties can keep up. Motul varieties need exchanging much more often than other brands that I have looked into. I...
  13. Looking for brake pad recommendations for my usage

I agree with what this guy is saying! Sounds like it's time to swap the factory brake fluid out for some Castrol SRF! Factory pad should be perfectly fine for your wish list and use case!
  14. Annual Type R track meet

Bump to keep this thread alive! Would love to see some more owners make the journey to VIR to see what their cars can really do! We had great turnout last year, and I'd love to see even more Type R's this year!
  15. Bummed so far with FL5 aftermarket exhaust sound

Remark has unmatched build quality for their exhausts, both the titanium and stainless steel varieties, obviously this is my opinion. I'm also a huge fan of exhausts that have bolt-up flanges rather than the ones that are slip-fit. I will say that I helped a buddy install a Magnaflow exhaust...
  16. Does lug nut length matter?

I use the lugs that Apex sells. They work just fine! I get "enough" engagement with the factory studs, but I did recently order extended studs so that I get complete engagement through the nut. IIRC you'll need 10 turns for safe engagement, and I was able to get that with the factory stud.
