It's a good option -- I've got 7 hard days on mine, and they are still looking great. I've run them backwards twice now just to even out wear a bit. I will be flipping on the wheels soon to get some additional life. The little wear indicators on the sidewall are quite helpful.

I've been running in 265/35/19 and it's been a pleasant street tire as well. There's probably 2K miles on them now that I think about it.

At Buy3Get1, its tough to argue for any of the other options besides the V730, but those will get dicier in the rain a bit faster.

It's not the fastest, and it definitely makes your work for the pace out of them, but they are hyper consistent and very communicative.
Awesome feedback thank you! Yes $265 a tire makes a lot of sense. It's so hard to compare tires online. You never know exactly how someone is actually using a tire. I'll post some feedback as well next month or so since they come in type r friendly sizes it seems.

Fun day at NCCAR....until it wasn't....nearly went down the heat stroke rabbit hole, but caught myself in time! Tracking during the middle of summer is rough! This was the first track event on the 4piston short block that my buddies and I built! I test several different configurations in this video!

Heat stroke is no joke. And 100+ temps suck especially if you're working on the car at the track. Maybe I'm just a softie lol.

Thanks for posting the vids I'll take a look tomorrow during work ?

You are not a softie. The heat will bring the toughest man to his knees.

Yup, gotta keep hydrated. The helmet, long sleeves and some wear full suits. You lose a lot of water in one session.

Just track the fl5 for the first time this weekend at pittsburgh international race complex. The fl5 surprise me how good it is out the box. only Fluids changed and the pins pulled. saturday reached 90 coolant never went above 220 and oil temp maxed at 264. After checking the car over I noticed my rear pads are smoked only 2mm left after two days and 9 25 mins track runs. I was running with all system off pedal dance my front pads are still about 60%

Surprising that the rear pads would see so much abuse since you used the pedal dance.

Same i assume since it was really hot this weekend and the brakes got hot. My rotors are blue and the rear pads just couldn’t coup with heat maybe. I’ve been following your build and videos. So I order paragon r3 front and rear with shims and rotors

I’m going to make the assumption your pedal dance wasn’t successful. There’s no way your rear pads should be that smoked after 2 days at PittRace with TCS and VSA disabled. My rear stock pads looked barely touched after a full day at Ridge, which has similar braking demands.

Swapping rear compounds will help, but if you aren’t properly disabling TCS and VSA you are going to continue to have this issue. Triple check before your next sessions that everything is off, and drop photos here so we can help you confirm.

Unless you get the vsa off warning in the dash then the brake assist in the rear will be active and eat the rear pads.

Brakes can handle a lot of heat. I'm thinking the VSA didn't disable completely.

I check my videos I can see three times the vsa was not off. the first time I went out just drove the car as it was. Once in the middle of doing the dance and someone ask me a question. And one more time while coming out the pits I notice i did not do the dance but at that point iam stuck just can’t stop

VSA will eat the rear pads extremely quick. That's likely all it took!
