Happy thanksgiving everyone! Quick question: are there any turbo inlet pipes that work with the stock FL5 airbox? I don't want to upgrade my intake, but I do want to remove the stock baffled turbo inlet pipe. Thanks in advance.

Why the inlet pipe? Inlet pipes are a supporting upgrade (has no performance benefit unless A lot of mods are done beforehand). The OEM is already a straight through and larger pipe than the maf housing. An intake can get you about 10Hp with no other mods. An inlet pipe might get you 2HP but only after installing an intake, charge pipes, intercooler and maybe a turbo.

I don’t think the stock airbox is restrictive until you pass 450whp IIRC

I've owned oiled filters on my prior cars and I don't want to do the cleaning and maintenance for those. I'm happy with my aFe dry drop-in filter, but I would like to get a nice inlet pipe for the aesthetics.

If it's for aesthetics, I get it. Have you looked at the inlet pipe from the fl5 from japanese market? It has the flat top heatsink. Personal opinion but I think It looks more aggressive.

It’s the same inlet pipe we have on the US FL5. It’s apparently a resonator to reduce noises, not a heatsink.

I agree, my car is still mostly stock. I just don’t like how the stock tube has that diverted bend with the hole.
The more stock your car looks the cooler it is. Make it fast but don't make it look fast, especially if it isn't.
My car is almost entirely stock, with the exception of lowering springs. I just don't like how the stock inlet pipe has a diverter hole, and wanted to replace it.

I was unsure about that because PRL’s website says that they’re compatible only with the PRL HVI. Thanks!
Originally the inlet worked with the stock accordion:

And PRL used to sell a silicone hose specifically to replace the accordion for connecting the inlet to stock box:

But when PRL came out with HVI, they sold a separate hose kit than what initially came with the inlet, for connecting the inlet to the HVI. Now the inlet just comes with the hose kit for connecting to HVI, hence their current compatibility disclosure. There is a slight difference in angle of hose connector from inlet pipe to the plastic pipe part, but I believe you can make it work. YMMV

My PRL CF inlet works with the stock box. Note that I bought it used and I also have the HVI (not installed yet) so I'm not sure which hose it came with.

The Infinity Design also works with the stock airbox as well. Don't have a pic but I've seen it done
