I thought the same. I tried a new gasket and still had a off idle. Didn't make sense. It's not like PRL is super complicated either. It's a good intake. My car just didn't like it lol
I had a 03 Mustang Cobra Supercharged years ago Dyno tuned to a little over 500 rwh. Basic bolt on mods/pulleys etc and bigger fuel injectors because it was running a little lean. And after the tune and bigger fuel injectors when I shifted from 2nd to 3rd “ when under load and racing it would stutter and pop more like a bang almost like traction control kicked on which it didn’t have . Every time it did that ripped my heart out. Tuners could not figure it out and the same issue happened only to few select others but not many with the same mod and Dyno tuned. I was one of the unfortunate ones.

Sounds like your belt was slipping at red line.

source: had a cobalt as supercharged and ion redline. Happened to me in both cars till someone made an aftermarket tensioner thingy that properly picked up slack

That’s definitely possible. Not a fan of the oil filter myself. I plan on swapping it for a new one yearly. I just don’t trust them. But I get it, with the ecu right there you’re stuck on size if you’re not willing to be creative like 27won and a few others. Clearly they proved it can be done and can be done correctly tho. Due to the smaller filter, can’t use a dry one. It needs more surface area or the flow would be fucked.
Maybe try cleaning the sensor with a recommended cleaner. But you have to be careful or you could make it worse and have to replace it.

No issues yet. But yeah if anything I’ll spray it with maf cleaner. It’s just all the dust that makes it past the oiled prl air filter that worries me. I’ve seen a bunch of pics and videos so I figure if I swap the filter yearly I can delay the inevitable some

Highly possible I can’t remember if I changed the tensioner or not I know I did new belts depending on my pulley selection. Although didn’t notice any excess belt dust from slipping.
Sure wish I would of thought of that back then I would of tried it 👍🏻

I learned a lot from the cobra and supercharged mini cooper guys. Always go with a gator back. They will absolutely not slip. Ever.

Haven’t had mine apart yet to check but the inside of airbox is pretty clean . I only live about a mile from the coast to so I imagine or would think I’d get some sand in the box. But it’s a pleasure car with only 4200 miles in over a year and a half . Intake has been only on around 400 to 500 miles or so I’m guessing.
I wouldn’t let it worry you to much I’ve run similar setups for years with no motor issues.
Sometimes the internet pointing out issues even if not intentional it can be misleading. I think if I’ve listened to everything I see and hear I probably wouldn’t own a car lol. I remember when I was buying a Kurig coffee maker and there was some horrible reviews saying it died in a few months and bla bla. I had mine for 10 years only changed it because I wanted a different color and was board with it. Anyway I take everything I hear and read with a grain of salt.

That’s dope. I’m retired and drive maybe 100-300 miles a month too 😂

I loaded the new calibration from my tuner, started the car, and let it idle for a few minutes after installing the COBB Tuning Redline Carbon Fiber intake. Zero issues so far, and the idle remained identical to stock. Provided the MAF is rescaled properly and the intake assembled and installed correctly, you shouldn't have idle issues with this intake. More information to come once I start logging.

FWIW, this is an incredibly nice looking intake and of high quality. I noticed the quality on the replacement airbox over the original is improved.
