The Cobb intake idled normal when I had it installed. I got the revised air box, but I still haven't installed it.

My PRL HVI has no issues for me at all with a perfect idle. Cold start up it idles a few hundred rpm’s higher and after a minute or so it kicks down. I think that’s how it was stock to if my memory serves me correctly. From my experience with it I can highly recommend a PRL and the butt Dyno says more power even without a tune, seems to have less traction in second gear also. Definitely sounds better then stock and seems my Remark SS 3” exhaust got a little louder to. With a bonus of being very cost effective compared to others HVI setups.

Just updating, I've driven around like crazy with the new cobb revised intake box. Zero issue, stays on just fine. I did install the hose part differently that attaches to the box. This time I clamped all that down really good, then bolted down the actual box. I felt like this ensured there were no chancs of popping apart lol. Of course, used the locktite as well

What idle issues are being reported with PRL? Ive had no persay idle issues, but after driving for a while the idle tends to stay up a tad longer than it should.

yeah, that's what it did to me. It was minor, but enough to make me not want it anymore lol

It was really annoying in parking lots though. I'm trying to drive around nomal and my car is over revving with the idle hanging way to long. That was my main issue with it.

It is minor, but drives me nuts because it shouldnt do that. And I cant explain why it happens. Its perfectly fine for a while, until driving around for a little bit.

yeah, I couldn't figure it out either. I remember posting how I bought prl to avoid idle issues and someone replied saying prl has idle issues as well, guess they were right lol.

@PRL Motorsports have you heard of this problem before? I thought it was only me, but... Only happened once I swapped to this intake.

Very strange why most aren’t but a few are. I wonder if it’s the Maf Senser gasket is leaking or caused by touching or bending the metal sensers. I’m not saying the folks having idling problems did this just trying to figure out why mine isn’t .

Yeah, Im curious as well. Might be worth a shot at just replacing the gasket and try for what its worth. Maybe after heat expansion a little bit of a vacuum leak. Unlikely, but....

Oh maybe. Dude who installed my stuff was at a Honda shop and they’ve installed tons of these on fl5’s already. In just 20 or 30 minutes he removed the stock unit and had the prl installed. I saw em go over all the connecting pieces. He said if any are misaligned it could cause issues and even a code?

I thought the same. I tried a new gasket and still had a off idle. Didn't make sense. It's not like PRL is super complicated either. It's a good intake. My car just didn't like it lol

Hard to say or maybe dirt or oil got on the senser.

That’s definitely possible. Not a fan of the oil filter myself. I plan on swapping it for a new one yearly. I just don’t trust them. But I get it, with the ecu right there you’re stuck on size if you’re not willing to be creative like 27won and a few others. Clearly they proved it can be done and can be done correctly tho. Due to the smaller filter, can’t use a dry one. It needs more surface area or the flow would be fucked.
