  1. Installing downpipe without getting tune have effect on motor?

Thanks! That explains why a company that dynoed the tsp downpipe didn't gain any hp without a tune. Do you know if the L15B7 and L15CA engines do the same?
  2. Honda Civic 1.5T Air Fuel Ratio Settings

I'm a beginner tuner, so someone with more knowledge please chime in. I believe you need to adjust short term trim. Try to get as close as possible to 0%, anything 5% or greater is bad. Isn't 11.8 still on the richer side, even at wot? 10.6 is very rich! Why you shooting so low? Worst case...
  3. Insert vs mount

If this a daily driver and you expect it to last a long time, the following would be best to worst order for OEM upgrade. Harder Rubber > poly Insert > full Polyurethane bushing. Polyurethane is great for a track car that swaps out parts often and gets maintenance pretty much every run. BUT...
  4. Mishimoto Civic Si Air Intake R&D

Correct me if I'm wrong but this system isn't just for the civic si but all the 11th gen civics with the 1.5L and also the Integra's. I've have it installed for a few months now; it looks good, easy install, sound is slightly louder, and a slight bump in throttle response and power. The mouth...
  5. Is remote start OK?

No, the car won't get to full operating temperature just by remote starting. Heat cycling is the number one cause of engine wear. Not only because of cycles of expansion/contraction wear but not letting the engine get hot enough for long enough to evaporate all the water leads to absorbing more...
  6. Will any 6mm washer work for transmission check valve

Do you mean the upper fluid level check bolt? For short term/temporary use, Yes. For long term, No. The washer has to be corrosion resistant to outside elements (oxidation) and cvt fluid, soft enough to deflect and seal, and a compatible metal with the aluminum trans housing and steel bolt...
  7. Best way to stop the body roll

Lowering Springs and shocks will make the ride more harsh. Is this what you are willing to accept? Sway bars do a far better job of preventing sway without adding to much harshness. Just do a larger rear bar and see if it that solves your problem. If you do springs, choose ones that don't...
  8. Inlet pipes with stock airbox?

If it's for aesthetics, I get it. Have you looked at the inlet pipe from the fl5 from japanese market? It has the flat top heatsink. Personal opinion but I think It looks more aggressive.
  9. Inlet pipes with stock airbox?

Why the inlet pipe? Inlet pipes are a supporting upgrade (has no performance benefit unless A lot of mods are done beforehand). The OEM is already a straight through and larger pipe than the maf housing. An intake can get you about 10Hp with no other mods. An inlet pipe might get you 2HP but...
  10. Battery registration after replacement?

This is the first time a Honda I've owned required a reset/recalibrate when disconnecting power. Whenever I disconnect/reconnect power or certain sensors, my 2022 Civic Sport Touring throws error codes en masse. I just connect my OBD2 scanner, hit clear all codes, restart engine, and everything...
  11. Will I need a tune immediately after installing a few bolt-on mods?

Phearable and TSP have good safe tunes. If you are going for all out performance then do a custom tune. If you are newer to tuning and this is your daily driver I don't suggest a custom tune or an e85 kit for a little while. You might find a readily available pump gas tune with bolt ons is...
  12. Will I need a tune immediately after installing a few bolt-on mods?

Turbo and fuel related changes require a tune. Everything on your list except the flex fuel kit will work fine without a tune. If this is your daily driver, I would highly recommend NOT going the e85 route.
  13. Metallic flakes all over car!

Have pictures? You sure it's metal, because silica dust glitters to. Usually found in areas with fine sand like beaches, quarries, or recent landscapping/construction.
  14. Email from dealer

They did the same with my 2018 Honda Odyssey. It's junk mail. After all fees, the dealer always profits.
  15. Any Recommendations for Front Brake Pads

If using for normal road driving (not racing), Hawk HPS. These are an all around great pad. Very predictable, quiet, good life, slightly dusty. Not the best at any one area but also not bad at anything. I love how consistent and predictable or "linear" feeling they are once they bed in.
  16. Can You See What I Did? 3 Mods One Photo!

Steering wheel Red under dash lights Dead pedal cover
  17. How necessary is it to upgrade charge pipes?

What are you meaning by "upgrade" charge pipes. If you mean changing them from rubber to silicone, then that is a waste of money. You would have to have some super extreme pressure and heat to have the original rubber hoses fail. The aftermarket makes it seem like our rubber hoses are made out...
  18. Battery Servicing?

I don't believe so. It is a group 47 battery that was commonly used for decades in European cars . The top cap was designed for several reasons. To be extra strong to handle weight during shipping. Protect accidental terminal shorting during maintenance and accidents. For extra volume so gasses...
  19. Metallic rattling noise

That is frustrating. Get a small rubber hammer/mallet and start tapping on random places. These new civic have so many rattles it's ridiculous. Did you check if it's coming from under the car? My underbody tray was rattling because it lost two bolts after the previous oil change.
  20. CARB approved intakes?

Why does the intake need to be carb approved? As long as you get one that sticks with the OEM plenum size, it doesn't affect the mass air flow sensor, then it has no affect on emissions. If you want to hear more noise, but stick with OEM box, then just remove the intake resonator.
