Nothing wrong with buying a used model, if you feel you got a great car for a fair price. But you probably would feel a whole lot better if you got a brand new one for a great price. Just don't have buyer's remorse whichever way you chose to go.🙏

Try DTLA Honda. I got mine for $2500 over some time in March of 2025. I didn't bother negotiating much. I'm sure they would of done a little better If I pushed them, but I was happy and everyone's pockets sit different when it comes to how much you want to pay purchasing a car. If you can get one for under $5k, I think its worth it considering most used models are selling for nearly the same price range. The only issue is we don't know if there will be a 2026 model and if they were to announce the 2025 being the last model, I'm pretty sure the dealers will hold onto the last inventory. If the 2026 does get officially get announced by Honda, then maybe you can get one at MSRP towards the end of the year or close to MSRP. This is just my $0.02 and straight forward opinion. I know there is a small percentage of people that are fixed on getting this car for MSRP, but the only MSRP dealers are from the middle of the Country. I know someone that paid $100k over sticker for a 992 GT3 and you obviously cant compare the two, but the FL5 is one of Honda's race inspired cars you can hands down own. I'm not saying MSRP doesn't exist in California, but the stars gotta align perfectly. When I shopped around for a few days, every dealer wanted $5k over and some wanted $7k over on CW.

Good idea with hitting up DTLA Honda. I texted and called them a few days ago and they were really nice. They were the one dealer willing to go down to almost MSRP and were willing to hand deliver me the car to my home with all the paper work. Unfortunately, I was about to pull the trigger on the Championship White that they had, but it got sold while I was on the phone with them by another salesman, literally was removed from the site while I was talking to them. 😆

They did have another car, but I don't want a Boost Blue and that's all they have in stock currently.

You should of jumped on it if they were going near MSRP. I would just work with those guys honestly. Keep in contact with them. I would go down there and drive your car back to your house yourself.....trust me the hand delivery person is going to pop the cherry on your R before you do.

Yeah, would've been nice to get the Championship White, but if I'm gonna buy a car and spend that much money, I'm getting the color I want. Oh no, I wouldn't want them to drive it down here if I did buy it, I would pick it up. At least I know they are willing to play ball and go that low in price, just gotta push it a little.

All I know is be ready to do the deal if it's right and don't waste time chit chatting. That's how I got mine, no time wasting , get to the bottom line and do the deal . 1k over MSRP and they had it 14k over sticker . I spent a total of 1 hour at the stealership and was out of there with the new car. 5 minutes on the phone negotiating and a couple of texts and that was it.

I got mine for MSRP back in March of 24. I wouldn't waste my time paying a sur charge just because dealers want to suck up as much money as they can. Do you think Honda charged the dealers 10K over market? ... I don't think so. Pure greed is all it is.

Shop around, there are plenty of dealers selling for MSRP.

You also live in Ohio and the car market is completely different compared to states like Cali. Ohio and a few other states nearby are where you see MSRP deals posted in FaceBook group chats.

This pretty much described how I got my deal done. Unfortunately, 2k over was the best I can do back at the end of May this year :( Anything more, I would do out-of-state MSRP deals or just move onto other platforms, which I was ready to do after about a month of searches and negotiating. The CTR is a great platform, but no way I would pay over $50k for it (minus tax and license)!

My requirements aren't the same as yours as a manual wasn't a must have if I can get it with a DCT or V8. I much preferred AWD or RWD cars. The FL5 is the only FWD that I would ever considered. As you can see, my top 2 don't even have a manual option. I don't need for it to be brand new either - I'm OK with a low mileage used.

My backup choices are:
1. Audi RS3. I love to have the unique 5 cylinders but was afraid that it feels too similar to my wife's tuned S3.
2. Lexus IS500. My last chance to get a RWD V8
3. F87 M2
4. Toyota Supra

If you can't find one for under $50k in California, I would look at dealers in the midwest or east coast at MSRP if you really want a FL5, but you'll have to pay $1k-$2k to get it shipped back and get it re-register in California. If you have to pay more than $3k markup and don't want to buy out of state, then why not jump up to the DE5 ITS? I'm not hearing insane markups on those? As I've said, the FL5 isn't worth more than $50k - IMHO. After having it for 3 months now, frankly, I'm not sure if I would pay the $2k over MSRP if I had to do it all over again. Even MSRP is a really high reach for the car!

I'm at a point where I'm MSRP or bust. If I can't get one, I'll just drive my is350 into the ground and save for a Cayman (6cyl only) or a 911. The only thing that may sway me is a $4k under MSRP Integra or something, which is not unheard of from what I understand.

DE5s are going for $5k under MSRP here in South Florida quite regularly, making them cheaper than the FL5 in South Florida with a longer warranty.

Hi thanks for your inputs. The ITS is still costing more than the CTR. I feel CTR will hold a better value then ITR?

Is there a color that sells slower, thus dealers are flexible with pricing?
