They really are The worst of the worst. I had a terrible experience with them when I was looking for my FX8 type R. I went there in person and haggled with them for over an hour and then gave them my final offer. They declined, so I walked. The salesman calls me up that evening and says a different sales manager has agreed to my offer but to come early in the morning as they canāt hold the car. I get there bright and early on a Saturday with my checkbook and the sales manager and salesman sit me down to tell me itās impossible to sell at the price I offered. I was absolutely livid. I asked them if theyāre in the business of wasting peopleās time because they sure as fuck were not making a sale. I walked out and I ended up getting my price at a dealership even more local to me that same day. The clueless salesman from honda world called and left voicemails for everyday the following week saying they have agreed to my offer. Fucker even tried to add me on facebook to dm me.Honda World is the worse, if there is one dealer I will never do business with its them.
Sounds about right from them. Bait and switch, baited you to come in by telling you they'll accept your deal and then switch it up when you came in.They really are The worst of the worst. Wait... You saying you can buy a car through one of them iPhones with the Google... Preposterous... In my day deals were made by shaking hands only after spitting on them.I got mine from Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance. From everything I observed over 2 months of shopping, every dealership in California is willing to make a deal, but it depends on timing.
I went to the same dealerships that my friends purchased from, and they wouldn't offer me the same deal they did for my friends.
I talked to NR Cerritos, Gardena, Riverside, Airport Marina (Santa Monica), Pasadena, Goudy/Alhambra, Hardin - none of them gave me the deal I wanted, so I left - Yes, I went to each one in person, spent 2-3hrs at each one... left.
Airport Marina said 5k markup + addons "Sorry, can't remove them" - a week later, I see someone post on here that they got the car from them for 2k markup no add-ons.
Every dealership does business via text, email and in person. There is no right or wrong way - they will do business the way the customer wants - but again, it's all based on timing.
I have a friend from the bay area who bought from Gardena at MSRP - 100% through text message. He flew down to socal, and Gardena had paperwork ready for him - he was in & out in 45mins.
I have friends who purchased from Pasadena and Hardin at MSRP - they both laughed at me when I told them my offer.
I don't know anyone who bought from Scott Robinson, but I got my car for $1k over + $1k addons (effectively $2k over MSRP) and that was the best deal I'd gotten so far. It was also 8pm March 31st, the last day of the month&quarter. It was a buzzer beater for the sales guy.
good luck my guy! just be persistent and keep trying.
I'd recommend planning to be at a dealership on Aug30th/31st and prepare to negotiate hard - but also be ready to walk if they aren't ready to sell the car. It's not you - it's them. Just move on to the next dealer.
The worst experience I had was at Culver City Honda - if you can get a FL5 from them at MSRP - I'll buy you lunch just to hear how you did it. F*ck those guys.
yeup - they'll even let you pay with that fake money kids call "bit-coin"Wait... You saying you can buy a car through one of them iPhones with the Google... Preposterous... In my day deals were made by shaking hands only after spitting on them.
Someone better jump on this quick, there's going to be reduced inventory after the dealers get this months allocation, if they havent received it yetHonda Stratham has a CW car for MSRP, $175 doc fee, no add-ons, no bs, and willing to ship.
That's where I bought mine in April.Honda Stratham has a CW car for MSRP, $175 doc fee, no add-ons, no bs, and willing to ship.
Awesome, it would be helpful for members if you could share your experience and who you worked with. What was good about your experience? What could've been improved? If you had to buy from them again, would you? If so, why? That's where I bought mine in April.
My wife is making noises that she'd like a 6-speed instead of her Civic CVT. She's had three Si-s over the years but there are more FL5s around than Si-s.
Is there a reason for the reduced inventory?Someone better jump on this quick, there's going to be redued inventory after the dealers get this months allocation, if they havent received it yet
When there is a model year change, production is scaled down for some time. There will be a 2026MY FL5 but they are planning to bulid less of them. Honda reconizes that majority of the people that want FL5s already have them or are preparing to buy relatively soon. Demand is still relatively high but it will soon reach a point where the production costs no longer justify it's existence. Despite its MSRP the FL5 is effectively a loss leader for Honda, the tariffs also haven't helped in justifying its continued existence. Is there a reason for the reduced inventory?
