Not sure if this has already been discussed, but Honda has yet to file VIN requirement data with the NHTSA for a MY26 Civic Type R.

For the MY25 CTR, it was filed on April 22, 2024 - https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/mid/home/displayfile/99ed1dfd-5b59-446c-b0e3-66e5dcd1d91a

For the MY24 CTR, it was filed on July 20, 2023 - https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/mid/home/displayfile/51b13a22-cf03-40a9-84d5-3cda0375140f

So I would think that if there was going to be a MY26, the VIN data would have already been registered by now.
Now don’t be bringing logic and facts to this thread. We’ve seen the spyshot of somebody’s office computer screen /s

Thanks for sharing that site.
Out of curiosity I checked the filing for the 2020 model year, turns out that was in November 2019.

Last month, this Japanese blogger reported orders resuming in Japan

I bought an FL5 earlier this year since all the rumors were pointing to this being the last year. But from what I currently see online, we might get 2026 and even 2027 models.

Good find on the 2020 info. Honestly if you can find one and can swing the cost, better to go for it. Never know if it’ll be possible to secure one otherwise especially if a limited is even more scarce, it’ll probably go to people willing to trade in their current FL5s anyway.

I don’t ever plan on selling mine so I don’t care either way haha

I also find it odd how Honda all of a sudden dropped a whole lot more units in the last few months. Im happy because i got one of those units, but it may seem like they are making one last squeeze before the end lol. 2026 Integra type s has been on sale for a bit now.

If there was no 26 would it makes sense to announce that so they would have an easier time selling the 25s?

Did they announce there was no 22 or at some point did they just announce a new 2023?

The Type R is a very low production car where demand is far higher than supply. They have 0 issues selling these even though the dealers mark them up 10-15k. If they officially announced 25 is the last year, that dealer markup would certainly go up.

Good point. If they announced this is the end, those dealer markups would go up another 10k and they would just hold.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the 10-15k dealer markup is a bargaining chip in order to get anything over msrp.

I doubt if any sell at 10k over msrp, and if so it is a very minute quantity.
