I feel like we did a pretty decent job at showcasing the HKS Hi-Power on our tester Red FL5 :)

We also have 2x in stock right now if anyone wants to skip the wait line! LINK
You guys did a great job on the video, seen it the day it dropped. I just like to hear other sounds clips. I have heard a few different videos, and all have a minor different sound lol, maybe mic differences.

I did order one and it's on the way!

Love the quality of HKS, but they are on the quieter side. I have one on my FA5 and it was basically stock, lol. Hopefully you'll get some nice tone with yours!

I had legamax on my fk8, I liked it, but yes, your right on the quieter side. From the HKS site, it states that the hi power is supposedly a tad bit louder, guess we'll see.

Thank you @Two Step Performance! Got both front and rear Paragon rotors delivered today. Can't wait for some decent weather to get them installed along with my new Dixcel M Type pads.

An interior update, after getting the RMK designshifter panel, Mugen shift knob and Acuity Shifter, I felt like the interior needed a lil extra so I did a thing with some help.

Hows the Acuity shifter? Honestly I love the OEM feel and don't feel it needs to be upgraded.

Ever loaded a bolt action rifle? Kinda feels like that. The car’s shifter goes from feeling good to great. If U like that extra resistance and sensation, of course.

U know what. Ever drove a va generation wrx sti? Kinda sort of like that but a little better and more precise feeling.

neighbor has this installed on his fl5. Got to drive it. I dig it. But stock feels so good I don’t feel a sense of urgency to do it right away. Eventually I will tho.

Yeah I always ran the STI short throw shifter in my VA STIs, and I like how buttery the OEM shifter is in the FL5.

The Acuity shifter is amazing, on a stock car you think there's not much if any room for improvement but the Acuity shifter is an excellent upgrade. You can adjust height, throw length and gate spacing. Personally, I only adjusted the shift knob height and left everything else as it came from Acuity. One thing alot of people don't mention though, is that the shifter has a break-in period that can take some getting used to, the increased shift effort might also be a turn off to some. But that's the compromise you gotta deal with from pretty much removing all the slop from the stock shifter.

I will say for 95% of owners I just recommend the base bushings and the shift cable bushings to tighten the feel a bit. Really won't need much more than that. I think it is best experienced AFTER doing some performance bolt-ons like a tune or an upgraded RMM.

Thanks for the input! I'm going to be dating myself here, but I ran a TWM Performance Stage 2 Short Throw on my 08 SI, and it was the best mod on that car.

I had the Hybrid Racing in my 07 FA5 Si. loved it. (also dating myself, I just turned 61...)

One of the first mods on my FL5 was the Hybrid Racing shifter

I also installed the shifter cable bushings at the same time

The Hybrid Racing shifter feels a bit more notchy while still being buttery smooth, more crisp/sharp/precise, (and obviously shorter throws, adjustable height and position).

I like the bolt rifle analogy, though it doesn't quite hit that perfect rifle-bolt snap in the S2000, but I believe it's the closest you are going to get in an FL5.

I have not tried the Acuity shifter, but people rave about it too.

Though from my understanding, it has a different feel than the Hybrid Racing, much more notchy, yet precise and rifle-bolt solid, almost zero slop.

The Acuity shifter is also more adjustable so you can dial in an even shorter throw and knob position

However, there are a bunch of guys who describe it as too aggressive for pure street, gates feel closer together and a few have money-shifted or missed gears when really hammering it.

Do your research, ask more people, and make a decision that will suit your driving habits.
