just looked into this and yeah just saw some video of a guy spinning the car going straight in the rain with the v730s. mmmmm might have to re consider the tire since I also like to drive the tire tot he track and I will admit that sometimes I get lazy and don't swap out wheels btw events lol
The A052's have been great so far, 5-6 track days and 7k daily driven miles. They do hydroplane in very heavy rain where there is lots of running water across the highway, just gotta stay alert.

Nice thanks for feedback. I looked at those too. I like to try new stuff since this is fun for me not a job ?

Hey all,

I took a pretty much stock fl5 (paragon p3 pads up front only w/ titanium shims, maxed out camber alignment, 0w40 oil, Endless brake fluid, water shield under the hood vent removed) out for its first track day.

Temps outside were low 80's the entire day and ran in the intermediate group. Besides wearing down the stock PS4S, oil temps stayed under 260F even after four 20m sessions.

Was able to reel in a few GR Corollas on 200tw tires and mk8 Golf Rs but couldn't keep up with a track-prepped 718 cayman S

Just wanted to add the data point. Was blown away how good the fl5 was on track.

Which 0w40?
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Highly rated and easily accessible oil in that weight. I would maybe switch back to the factory weight in the winter time but zero issues with daily driving on 0w40.

Shoutout to @Club Version for commenting on track tire pressures from his recent Youtube vid. Was perfect.

Also I noticed that slight brake fluid was coming out of the bleed nipples after a session or two. Would make sure that is torqued down to spec....

I'll need to check my brake nipples. Always nervous to over torque them ?

That almost always happens to any brake setup after a bleeding, especially with track use. It's usually just the residual brake fluid trapped inside the opening from bleeding and heating up.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, even though I freaked about it the first time it happened to me, so it's understandable.

No Problem! These cars respond really well to staggered tire pressures.

Not specifically a track question: anyone find a way to clean the calipers? Mine are slightly discolored. Not sure if this is something that can be undone honestly. It's not too bad, just annoying.

Did you get the shims for the pads, they delay the inevitable.

Yea running the titanium shims. I have a feeling it was remaining brake fluid from when I flushed them coming out of the bleed hole while on track. I may be stuck with it..

DE5 here. Coolant temp gauge hit 5 bars (4 bars is where it always sits when warmed up) toward end of last session at track day on 9/8 at Streets of Willow clockwise—happens at 1m02s into the posted lap video. 7 laps in of my 6th and final 20-minute session of the day at about 2:30 PM, outside temperature was showing 106°F on the instrument cluster. Heater was on HI temp, med fan speed. Wish I had set up the track timing app to capture coolant temp readings from the connected OBD bluetooth scan tool so we have numbers, next time. Fully stock except RBF660 brake fluid + FL5 forged accessory wheels w/Michelin SC2
