They call them brownbros for a reason lol
They do? I never heard before. Oh well. I just assume over time, it will get gunky and need to refinish. My spoon caliper on my S2000 is showing its age. No longer that bright blue.

I'll need to check my brake nipples. Always nervous to over torque them ?
I am too cuz brembos are notorious for being easy to over torque since they are aluminum. Once over torqued they will always weep since the nipple contact with caliper is ruined.
I totally thought I had over torqued mine since I had weeping too, drip down caliper, then just around the nipples, gotta clean that quick or it will ruin the paint. Now after 3 track days (went home made sure they were torqued properly and they were about right) no more weeping so as big bird said likely was from residual fluid in the threads.
I kind of want to get stabhl quick bleeders but I will just be bleeding yearly so probably overkill but if you gonna be doing it a lot I recommend

Just had OnTrack insurance quote a year of coverage for HPDE at $3350. Doesn't seem terrible but that's 10 events a year. I may just buy the 6 pack and go from there.

Hmmm, I pay about $280 an event with on track, also if you get a pack of 6 you get 15% off (and any event after that also is 15%) so 10 events is about $2400. I think yearly only starts making sense if you are doing 15+ events a year

thats where I am at. Not just cuz of the color but the seals on the brakes are a lot better too and I really don't love the pins on brembos, hitting pins with hammers is just so caveman like

I must be insuring more. I'm doing 55k with 10% deductible. Or they like your car and driving more ?

that makes sense as I am insuring for 45k, car is mostly stock (just wheels). I also say yes to "part of a club" that knocks almost $10 off.

with Lockton it's about $450 or so. I do similar values/deductible.
you should look at ontrack, I just put 55k and its about $378 and that is not even with the discounts you get if you book 3 days (10%) or 6 days (15%). On track is based out of connecticut. Never had to use the insurance and hope to keep it that way but when I did research a lot of people said good things about them.

Also they include this

  1. Debris removal coverage automatically included up to $1,000.
  2. Pollutant clean up and removal coverage automatically included up to $10,000.
  3. Damage to property of others coverage (track) up to $500.
  4. Towing and rental coverage automatically included up to $500 each.

Which a lot of insurances don't even have

I think they charge about the same with Time Trials added. I haven't done a HPDE in a while, but i'll check their price as well. thanks for the heads-up!

NJMP, Thompson, and when SCCA TTNT goes to VIR
Nice, all places I have never been too haha. Next year I will make it to NJMP.
Masstuning is doing some TT at palmer now, great place if you have never been to, one of my favorites in the NE

Great track, been twice, but from my motorcycle days, if there's not a lot of run off I'm not a fan, even though with a lot of runoff anything can still happen. maybe i'll have to go back one day and conquer it. I wasn't very fast there in my Golf R
