Model Year 2025 Civic Type R FL5 Shipments from Japan

FYI, just got this text from a local dealer in SoCal, seems that cars are arriving at dealerships:

We just got 5 Civic Type Rs in: Rallye Red, Championship White, Crystal Black, Boost Blue, and Sonic Gray.

This is the last year for the Type R, and they’re moving fast. Want me to lock one in for you before they’re gone?

to which I responded: "there seems to be a glut, I'll wait till prices drop below MSRP"

I've never seen a dealer with five FL5 on the lot, the most I've seen was two, most had only one.

Probably the dealer I got my rallye red one from this week! lol

On another note, it is truly mysterious why 26’s aren’t showing. I saw an IG story post today from Japan showing the black edition CTRs hitting dealer lots there.

I think black edition is non US market so far.

Plus I love the red interior. Black makes it look base model to me, although I love that dash.

It’s cool to see the colors in numbers. No wonder it took forever to find CB

I saw a post by Hondaprojason mentioning " The Honda Prelude-GT will replace the Civic Type R-GT in the 2026 Super GT season!! "

I wonder if thats any indication of the end of the Type R gen.

It's important to note that not a single other person at a dealership or otherwise has corroborated this- in fact some dealership personnel have specifically stated they don't see this in their inventory system. Not saying it is faked, but it could be error just as much as it could be true. 2026 CTR has been registered with NHTSA in the US for 3 months, now- but that happened the same exact time that the 2026 civic was registered, so who knows

Either way- the allocation process for the CTR is different. Dealers will absolutely be told they are getting type Rs before they show up in the Inventory system
