Does anyone have experience with both PRL RMM and using the stock RMM with inserts?

better for daily driving?

Hello all,

I just installed the PRL rear motor mount and love the more connected feel it gives. It has made shifting much more smooth as well! Unfortunately the NVH is a little too much for my taste with the AC on, but I am under the impression that it'll break in with time.

If I still do not like it after a while I will switch back to the stock RMM and install powerflex bushings. Has anyone had experience with both that could speak to the differences? My main goal is to hit the sweet spot of having the more precise shifting, lessened wheel hop, and also only a little bit of extra NVH with the AC on. I know not everything is perfect but I can dream right?!

Thanks!

This isn't really an answer to your question, but I was recently wondering the same thing. I installed a PRL RMM about 3 weeks ago. I was shocked at how much vibration there was at idle with the a/c on. It was intolerable. However after a track day and about 150 miles of street driving the vibration has massively reduced. I barely notice it now.

Hang in there and give that mount time to break-in. I was skeptical at first, but mount really does break-in and the vibration gets much, much better.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear haha. I just installed it yesterday, so I look forward to it being properly broken in.

Thanks!

Installed PRL RMM and driven on it for like 200 miles. It's getting better each time and I barely notice it now. With A/C it can be rough but usually when it's just turning on, it dies down pretty quickly after that.

i've tried both and the yellow/street Powerflex inserts are the way to go, imo. Drove with the PRL mount for a couple months/2000 miles and it never "broke-in" like people claimed. felt exactly the same as the first day i installed it.

My experience was a little different with the PRL RMM. I was surprised by the lack of added NVH right after install. With that being said, the PRL RMM definitely settles in after a 1000 miles or so. I sometimes forget I have a aftermarket RMM installed with the PRL RMM. With my Accord 2.0 I had the Hasport RRM installed and it would rattle your teeth out of your skull. I'm quite happy with the PRL and I think you should stay with it for a few thousand miles before decided to give up on it. I'm sorry, but I have no experience with OEM inserts.

I didn't know Cobb made an RMM. 😲 The description states it utilizes a combo of 2 different bushings for lower NVH, like the Wunderladen RMM. I never tried the Wunderladen, but 10th and 11th gen Civic owners rave about it. Makes me curious to try it.

I originally tried the power flex black inserts and it created a ton of vibration. Switched to the PRL which was better but still had a lot of vibration at start up and idle. Just switched last week to the Cobb tuning mount and it’s perfect. No extra vibration inside the cabin, but can feel the difference when accelerating and shifting.

Very curious how this compares to the Wunderladen RMM or if they're both about the same.

Seems like everyone is loving the wunderladen, so guessing it’s similar. I wasn’t a fan of the added nvh from the inserts or the PRL mount so glad I gave the Cobb a shot.
