Sweet...CW is traditional where I think it looks best in all light conditions. SGP is a great color as well but IMHO looks best in shady light conditions.
Interesting and thank you for sharing. The end tank size obviously does not match with the core itself...Is it a legitimate HKS part that you received?
Reference video of the HKS intercooler:
Congrats...Received in a few weeks after ordering instead of having to wait until a May 2026 ETA. Any initial thoughts/comments after switching from the PRL B&P to the HKS T&F?
So simply adding this intake onto a stock FL5 results in +35 HP / +54 Nm (39.83 ft-lbs. torque) at the wheels? Impressive...
Dyno graphs show the "Baseline 2025 honda civic type-r fl5, all stock and hood closed run 4 gear" having a max torque output of 429 Nm or 316.43 ft-lbs. Even more...
Thanks...What about heat soak (e.g., sitting at a traffic light) and thermal recovery? The updated PRL intercooler would fare much better in that situation.
Thanks and I read that...I simply want to know more about the core used. The updated PRL intercooler switched from a B&P to a T&F to reduce 7.8 pounds while providing slightly better temps.
I stated my rankings by caveating it with IMHO...Manufacturers should do their own design, development and testing to convince consumers to buy their product...Can PRL provide specific details about the CSF T&F core used as compared to cores produced and used by other companies?
Details updated in the first post. IMHO, I do not like the tight and thin fin density on traditional B&P cores or those that claim to be Hybrid B&P or T&F cores with the same tight and thin fin density that restricts airflow to the radiator...Engineer something more modern and efficient that is...
Both core designs have matured over the years. Some T&F cores are more efficient and durable such as the one used in the J's Racing Intercooler. Some B&P cores are either old school B&P (Heavy) or Hybrid B&P that looks like a B&P on the outside but is lighter than a traditional B&P such as the...
I have also been running the GruppeM intake prior to a tune for 5K miles and after a tune for another +5K miles. I have not experienced any idle or other issues with it.
It is worth noting that when the intake was initially released, some idle issues were reported due to an air leak around the...
FWIW, I paid $1,850 this past February for the J's shipped to my door. Current pricing from BHJ shipped to my door would be:
J's: $1,959 plus tariff fees
HKS: $1,012 plus tariff fees
HKS with piping kit: $1,563 plus tariff fees
As much as I love the J's, it would be hard to justify the...
