I think some of the NADM models are built in the Alliston plant here in Canada, so I’m not too surprised those have already been renewed for MY26 along with some of the other models in the lineup.Civic Hybrids are built in Japan and those are already on 2026...
Racing Blue is an alternative name for Boost Blue. When you order touch up paint for Boost Blue, the bottle will come in as "Racing Blue". I believe Racing Blue is used in most places outside of the North American market.Interesting. I didn't know Honda starts importing hatchback hybrid from Japan since April/May even when tariff is added.
On another note, Honda Australia announced a new racing blue color for FL5 which looks like BB. Maybe a sign for 26?
Great idea! You will love the car!! Bought mine in 2024. Every time I drive it I get a big smile on my face!Just checked my local dealer and 2026 Civic Hybrid Hatchbacks are showing a Japan VIN.
I was not planning on purchasing mine until January but based on everything I've seen between lack of announcement, lack of cars shipped out of the port, Japan order pause, Europe discontinuation, tariffs etc I went ahead and put my name on an in transit unit once I found one at MSRP. Sure theres a chance they announce a low volume 2026 or a special edition etc but my gut and the info I've seen on both sides says we're toward the end of the FL5. Or least I hope so, itll make me feel better about moving my purchase up.![]()
I'd ask @roastduck to see if he can pull up any additional shipments past September. His last post HERE shows MY25 deliveries from Japan.Have they stop shipping 2025 already? I'm starting to see inventory drying up in SoCal.
Keep your expectations grounded a bit. While my FL5 is a keeper the car has its limitations. If you read the reviews and watch the videos, the car is presented as a near masterpiece and that's completely misleading. It's flawed in the way every other car is flawed. If you keep that in mind the shortcomings may be easier to digest.I'm cautiously excited, I've gone through 3 dailies in the last 4 years and none we really truly enthusiasts cars and all of them felt like a total waste of money to me. Felt like this time I needed to go all the way and get the really proper exciting car. I'm hoping for something that feels like my S2000 but a little more usable, fingers crossed.
Thankfully I gave up on finding a perfect car awhile ago. If its a fun experience overall and depreciates less than avg I'll be happy. I had a nice low mileage GTI last and lost my shirt putting 6k miles a year on it and it wasnt exactly cheap to begin with. I also HATED the trans and thankfully on all the head to heads I've seen everyone talks about just how much better the FL5 transmission is over the Golf R (basically the same trans I had in the GTI).Keep your expectations grounded a bit. I daily my B series swapped Civic EG Hatch. I built it from the ground up and enjoy this 90’s era gem every time I drive it. The FL5 is like that car, but 20 years removed into the future lol.I'm cautiously excited, I've gone through 3 dailies in the last 4 years and none we really truly enthusiasts cars and all of them felt like a total waste of money to me. Where did you hear that from?Japanese civic factory announced today that they will be done producing civic hybrids in Japan. All manufacturing of the civic will be shifted to the Indiana plant. Sounds like this is the end of the fl5 cycle but nothing has been announced officially.
