I don't think people are thinking about this the right way. These cars are very hard to find already, meaning those with them are mostly Honda fans who appreciate the Type R name and have been tracking these for the past year.

Once you see these cars start popping up on the streets all the Average Joe's are going to start looking for them, likely making them even harder to find. As pointed out by everyone, this is a tamed down FK8 in terms of appearance so there will be a whole new market for these that did not exist with the FK8.

I'm going to disagree with you here on a point - no "normal" person is buying a $44k Civic. The Si is a push IME.

I do think overall ADM will drop when the market inevitably comes down due to high interest rates and other factors, but I wouldn't plan my future around it. If the supply chain ever goes back to the way it was that would help too.

FK8 was available for MSRP, even a few under supposedly, however it came out at a much better time fiscally in every way and the polarizing looks and availability of competition helped too. Part of the problem here is almost every other option you might be considering is also just as scarce and marked up.

It was nothing like this, it took me a few hours to find a 2020 for MSRP.
Maybe 4 years into the release that will be the same case, not during the first year tho, not with the current state of production and transportation issues that exist in the entire automotive industry.

TLX is 57-63k, plenty of wiggle room for Acura to market the Intregra 5-7k less....won't be under 50k
Raiti's rides estimated 48k. It will be under 50k. Also plenty of MSRP Acura dealerships out there.

There used to be MSRP Honda dealers to, not any longer at least on the R. Hell half are trying to mark up the Si.

Give it a couple months, once the Type S hits dealers in June that should put some pressure on the dealers to drop prices.
I doubt Acura can pull the limited production talk too with the plant being in North America. Also A-Spec Integras and TLX Type S sit on lots for MSRP or less. Hopefully a good sign for those willing to give up a F1 inspired dash, sporty seats, and a badge number for the Integra Type S.

Supposedly they will produce quite a but more of the Type S, but on FB Acura groups dealers allegedly already stating 10-15K "accessoires etc" cough *adm* cough..

Acura isn't exactly flourishing right now, Honda is able to sell every one of their cars before they arrive, Acura has numerous models filling their lot. If they can take advantage of accessories or ADM in order to keep their dealership afloat I'm sure they will

Most I'd be willing to do for ITS accessories would be the NSX Y-Spoke wheels but that would have to be a fresh set in my trunk, not replaced on the car ? the extra grand or 2 for the bronze is not worth it

Wild to see prices still so high, but I’ve said it before that those dealerships getting their first allocation seeing all the others sell for 10-20k will not likely part with theirs for any less.

What's the negotiation tactic?
My guess would be leveraging competition with allocations/MSRP dealers or just complete avoidance until the market turns because of the amount readily available.

That is all a big maybe until we see past the initial launch numbers of what dealers get.

Just got it this past Wednesday 04/26/2023. $5k over msrp. Boost blue. #1765. Seat rail recalled performed (took about 1 month).
Congrats! Were you on a waiting list or did you find a dealer that had a reasonable markup?
