  1. What did you do to your FL5 today?

They don't. A proper D wheel isn't much shorter and won't work with the OEM parts.
  2. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Don't make the mistake I did - I had a flat yesterday and used the OEM pump to put enough air in it to limp the nearest tire place. What I did not know is that the OEM pump has a setting to push tire slime into the tire :( What a fucking mess. Only noticed the knob to change settings afterwards.
  3. Icehawk's "OEM+" speaker upgrade

I didn't baffle the fronts and my installer didn't end up using them in the rear either. If you are going to do it I'd probably just cut them in half and just cover the top and not worry too much about it, stock there isn't anything so I guess Honda figures it'll be fine for a few years at least :D
  4. Icehawk's "OEM+" speaker upgrade

No issue, it’s what it is designed for. I have the bass turned up a few clicks, more than that and it’s overwhelming (from a SQ POV, it’s still a 8” driver so only has so much depth and performance).
  5. Icehawk's "OEM+" speaker upgrade

Use the link actingbusy posted above and scroll a good way down and you’ll see two different sets of 2ohm speakers. I would opt for the less expensive ES as, with stock power and DSP, I doubt you’d see much difference for the extra $ on the model up. Have no fear of refurbished, I have bought...
  6. Are spacers that bad?

No. Ran super low offset wheels with R compounds for years on my Miata with no issue and so do a lot of folks. Would I run them on a car with known bearing issues, no, but that isn’t something most modern cars have to worry about. High offset can introduce positive or negative handling...
  7. Icehawk's "OEM+" speaker upgrade

I stand by my posts - 2ohm front doors, 4ohm front tweeter, 1ohm sub replacement are where you get the most for your buck. I really should do some sound deadening in the doors, been a while but I think I only did the trunk and sub area. @actingbusy Any idea on what ohm the ELS stuff is? I...
  8. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Not me, not the R but... got a call from the Subaru dealership and it turns out my wife's attempt to turn her 3mo old BRZ into a boat was unsuccessful and we can add another FA24 to the graveyard. Fortunately, insurance is in play. Not sure yet if they are going to repair or what.
  9. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Cleaned my rear door drains! We've had a lot of heavy rain and minor driveway flooding, I guess enough crap gut in there to block the drains that I had standing water in the rear doors. Easy fix, glad I caught it before the water sat long. That's the one I've considered off & on. Might have...
  10. Icehawk's "OEM+" speaker upgrade

100% it's worth doing. Ditto the tweeters (I acknowledge these may be a pain to install). Those are the biggest bang for your buck, depending on choices you should expect to spend ~$150-250. Next steps after would be door speakers & tweeters then I'd go with the 1ohm cheapo sub driver...
  11. What did you do to your FL5 today?

That's my guess since the car lives outside, gotta look and see where those are on the doors - probably clogged with leaves.
  12. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Cool, wasn't sure if you were implying it needed the more common high performance break-in process. So I open my rear driver's side door... and tons of water came out of it. Not sure why but there is water stuck in the door that only drains when it is open :( Will need to have a dealer take a...
  13. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Got mine via eBay sellers in Japan. Price vs expected performance for my use is why I got them. They'll probably see 1-2 track days at Homestead this winter/spring. You mention proper bedding - Dixel's site has a "just drive easy for 3-600 miles" note, it does not have the typical...
  14. What did you do to your FL5 today?

4 new OEM tires, Dixcel Z pads, and an oil change @ 13.5k miles + 1 track day at Homestead. Front pads had a bit more life, but the rears were pretty worn. Tires were 100% used up. I also installed the WOT hood stuts last week, super easy to do if you have a rivnut setter (ty, Amazon) and...
  15. South Florida CTR/ITS Meetup

Poster for FWD meet, has note "no donuts". No problem.
  16. Cheapest way to get the Honda-specific Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for stock wheels?

I’d grab those OEMs from your dealer, that’s about as good as you are going to do. For a single track day the PS4S works fine, for regular work I would want a dedicated wheelset.
  17. Front parking camera?

Been literally waiitng a year for them to have inventory of this: https://mikstoreph.com/products/civic-2022-blind-spot-front-and-sides-camera?variant=42634449813754 Wish I knew the module #, I'd source that somehow - the camera and wiring is a non-issue, it's not like I'd use the supplied...
  18. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Added WOT hood prop rods, it’s something I do to all my cars for convenience. Ordered Dixcel Z pads, at 13k miles I need new pads and tires on all four corners (also 1 track day). A set of OEM tires will go on as well.
  19. WOT Performance Hood Strut Kit

Ordered! I ordered a cheapo Amazon setup and sent it right back, this looks much better even if it isn't inexpensive.
  20. Brake Pad Manufacturer/Model Compilation Thread

13k miles, 1 track day and my pads F&R are getting down to it. Tires are toast too. Ordered the Dixcel Z pads ($440 for full set) which I hope are a good compromise on performance, cost, and wear.
