@Icehawk can you clarify a bit for me.

I am only seeing an ES-6 option, not an ES-6.2. Are these two different speakers, just want to make sure i grab the right ones.
Use the link actingbusy posted above and scroll a good way down and you’ll see two different sets of 2ohm speakers. I would opt for the less expensive ES as, with stock power and DSP, I doubt you’d see much difference for the extra $ on the model up.

Have no fear of refurbished, I have bought like 6 sets or more and they all look and function as new.

Excellent thank you ! How has the stock amplifier held up with the 1 ohm sub ?

No issue, it’s what it is designed for. I have the bass turned up a few clicks, more than that and it’s overwhelming (from a SQ POV, it’s still a 8” driver so only has so much depth and performance).

For the rear CDT ES-5 5.25 speakers, do I also need that ring adaptor to fit properly and wiring harness/adapters ?
Or would it be a direct fit, no ring adaptor needed ?

You can optionally use the same size speakers as the front, just look for a 4 ohm rating for the rears and yes, you do need the adapter rings and speaker harness if you dont want to cut into factory wiring.

Sweet! I'm most probably going to go that route then.

Thank you for all the hard leg work. I have an si and am discovering just how bad these bose speakers are. The fronts have barely worked since ive owned the car, I'd have to pop of the liner and wiggle whatever wire that is that is hot glued to the cone to get them to temporarily work. The sub is blown, which to be fair, I do have a part to play in that failure.

One last question sorry to bother, do you happen to remember what baffle you got to go in the door panel to help protect from water draining thru the door?

Did you cut a hole in the bottom to port the baffle ?

I didn't baffle the fronts and my installer didn't end up using them in the rear either. If you are going to do it I'd probably just cut them in half and just cover the top and not worry too much about it, stock there isn't anything so I guess Honda figures it'll be fine for a few years at least :D
