one of the dealers I’ve been in constant touch with in GA says they haven’t heard anything yet but expect to hear early next week, maybe on Monday.

Wait what other car? Purchasing two CTRs?
I am!

However I believe my father will probably buy one from me if I end up keeping my GRC once it comes in next summer

I work for a dealer group (corporate) in California have IN access for our Honda store, and am not seeing any CTRs yet as of this morning! I'm 4th on our list for a CTR, so I'll definitely be checking daily.

Regarding the price, I hate to be a naysayer, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a $45k+ MSRP on this car. All of it's competition is there... the Golf R Mk 8 is $45,385 and the Corolla GR Circuit is $43,995. You could even throw in the Mustang GT PP at $46,140 and the Camaro SS 1LE at $47,995. (All of those including destination.) Of course I'd prefer $39,990 (who wouldn't?), but this is a totally different market that this generation of CTR is coming into. We regularly sell used FK8s in the $40ks, and Honda would be stupid to ignore that. Just my two cents as an automotive market analyst.

Honda isn’t going from $39 to $45 lol

The gr core starts at what the 18 ctr did and even a circuit is $41k, it won’t be more than that

Mustangs and Camaros have absolutely zero to do with any Honda vehicle

Did you do an On-Order Detail Inquiry instead of normal vehicle search? I ask because for my dealership a normal vehicle search brings up nothing but an inquiry shows what we’re getting

Inflation is very much a thing right now. It sucks, but it's hit the automotive industry... hard. Pull up any inflation calculator (https://www.in2013dollars.com/New-cars/price-inflation/2020-to-2022?amount=39000) and you'll see the same trend... a new car worth $39k in 2020 is now about $45k. Consider ourselves lucky if that's the MSRP we get.

You'd also be surprised at the cross shopping that happens at this price point. Sure, there are plenty of die-hard Honda folks here who would never consider a domestic, but I know many people who have gone from CTRs and similar to 1LEs and similar, and back the other way (including myself). We don't have all that much to pick from when it comes to new sub-$50k enthusiast cars, so we take what we can get!

So I got in touch with the Honda dealership (Canada) i put a deposit with as far back as Oct 2021. First time i speak to this person and he said that Honda (not sure who he meant by 'Honda' here) told them that non of the dealers would be able to place any CTR orders through dealerships and you have to put the order through the honda website when they open it. Not sure if anyone ever got this sort of info before but i don't think this is accurate was that how the ordering process went for the LE CTR or the NSX ...also this contradicts what the sales manager and the sales person i actually put the deposit with previously said...they said that they have my order in and omce honda accepts orders all the dealerships would submit their orders and would be prioritized based on order date and based on allocation those orders get fulfilled ...oh and this person kept pushing me to get my refund back i was like i dont want my refund i came to you guys over a year ago to ensure that i place an order for a limited production car and guarantee me a spot why are you telling me let me get you the refund on the deposit...i want the car not my deposit back... may be he is just saying that because they are getting lots of demand and they want to brush ppl off...i don't get why these dealerships sales ppl say outlandish stuff like this if you don't know our have no new info just say i don't know...i am gonna be pretty pissed off if they fumble my order given that i had this in since oct 2021 and we are almost in 2023

I think some folks on here are going to be in for some serious sticker shock. If they think they getting it for less than the Golf R they are going to be sad very soon.
