I got off the phone today with a sales manager from a smaller dealership and heard some interesting stuff.

First off I was surprised that he told me that he has been confirmed from Honda that he is getting one, but only one over the three year run and it’s going to be a 2024. He also said that he had to beg to get it.

He also made it sound as though Canada will not see 2023 model year cars at all which blows big time. It’s been pretty common knowledge that Canada is only getting 500ish cars over three years so I would assume that means that it will be a four year run.

Anyways this is the first news I’ve heard out of anyones mouth at all so I guess things are rolling out now.

We know there’s a least a few here in Canada now based on pictures posted here the last 2-3 weeks. That tells me there’s stuff happening behind the scenes and dealers may get their allocations before the end of the year. So I’m going the stay optimistic at our chances.

Do sneakers count if I put wheels on them?

Thanks for the update. Really hoping that's not true. It doesn't make sense that there's a type-r at a Quebec dealer for media drives. A couple other pics of very limited numbers in Canada was spotted, likely also for media or something. If it won't be released till, it would be total waste of time and effort to do that this early.

Hopefully it's just a miscommunication. Remember there are also multiple Canadian dealers that confirmed allocation and also ones saying to only go on Honda website. It's very confusing.

One crazy possibly is that 2023 cars has to be ordered via lottery with Honda direct. Then through dealers 2024. That could be why there's two different but consistent messages going on.

The wait continues...

There were only two in that picture which leads me to believe they were press cars only.

I suspect the car will cost 42 at the highest.

I truly do not see the logic to compare the Civic to the Camaro and Mustang, even trying to do so.

We will soon find out.

Where is the next year 50 dollar bet guy? He owes me no money... but others I think he may.

I'm in Canada my dealer told me they are guaranteed one CTR for first round of orders. He said he will hopefully know more soon. He will try to get me SGP but obviously that can't be guaranteed.

And what are you guys talking about here. Golf r in Canada costs 47k CAD, I will gladly buy a CTR at 47k CAD. Maybe prices are diff in USA ;p but golf r here doesn't cost 55k cad.

So much miscommunication, misinformation, dealer assumptions, and constant contradictions. I know we all want this car but we are close to getting details now so let’s stay calm keep your deposits in place (or don’t better for some of us not first in line)and let’s see what transpires. I will stay cautiously optimistic for the time being.

God damn I'm about to spend 60k+ for CTR lol

Circling back to backup plans just in case... ugh!
Lol same. Never thought the CTR would cost just as much as my GT350 lol. The whole point of me trying to get one was the fact that it would be cheaper lol ?

Use Google translate. Person writing the article received their car in Japan with serial number hitting 4 digits. Seems to be higher than 400/mo quoted for Japan, so could be international or they've increased output. We know 350 are in US and a few hundred more are on their way, plus all the dealer cars in Japan.

Anyone know if serial numbers are international or something else?
