Hey all! So have been doing some digging for a potential new exhaust for the 10 day old FL5 and so far have been disappointed with the sound of them. I'm looking for something DEEP and mellow sounding, more so, tired of obnoxious and buzzy like I've been seeing.

The ONLY one that's close? The TOMEI dual pipe, surprisingly without mufflers even, sounds the best! Armytrix, AWS, and on and on just sound too....buzzy/tinny/noisy.

Any insight would be appreciated!!

If you ever plan on doing a downpipe, I would try that first with the stock exhaust and maybe a frontpipe. A lot of people are very happy with that setup, myself included. I was planning on doing the Tomei or A'pexi because I like the two giant bazookas look but decided against it once I heard my car with downpipe/frontpipe. It is a very deep tone, low bass rumble. Still low on decibels across the whole RPM range, but the tone in my opinion is as good or better than any aftermarket exhaust currently available.

Took me four tries to find the right one, tried the remark triple tip Q spec, Remark dual tip, hybrid racing and the hks legamax.

Super happy with it, deep tone and no drone.

If it ain’t a v4 or a boxer/flat 4. It’s not gonna sound great. Best U can hope for with an inline four is “good enough”

I can recommend watching some YouTube and listening to a few options.

My mistake. I was referring to modern inline 4 cylinders. Nothing today is capable of sounding as good as a b18 with long tube headers man. Sadly. Sorry for the confusion 😂

All of the aftermarket exhausts don't sound good imo, its just the engine, could be because of the 3 tipped exhaust. Even the TCR and TC Race cars dont sound that good. You just gotta accept it.

I think getting a downpipe with the stock exhaust or a resonator would be a better setup, the car gets really raspy and without a resonator.

I would just focus on getting a loud intake like a Ram air styled one so you get hear the turbo more

I’ve heard a couple good ones, the Apexi isn’t bad and the TOMEI it’s probably the better sounding of them all.

Tomorrow, I’m going to start focusing on the fuse for the valve to keep that open and getting rid of the fake piped in noise. That’s annoying.

Unfortunately, that is the only video I could source for you. However, the company that the YouTube channel belongs to is based in Australia, and they are amazing at sourcing, shipping, and selling Japanese products to us here in the USA. Check with them; they may have a video of one installed. Who knows.
