Yes, everyone knew at release there would be people willing to sign papers being $20k or $30k in the red. However, anyone posting a terrible financial decision online should expect feedback. If they don’t want feedback don’t post the numbers.
So what’s a “terrible financial decision”? Probably going to be different for everyone. To me, the only terrible financial decision is buying a car you cannot afford. No way I would pay some of these markups, but that’s their business lol

It’s subjective no matter how you split it but if you’re good with your decision why are you so defensive about it? Move along with your life.

FL5 CTR
It's disappointing to see how quickly this thread has descended into ridiculing those among us that paid various levels of ADM. The FL5 CTR isn't cheap to begin with (for a civic) but if the market determines that Honda undervalued the car then let the market do what it does. Nobody forced these guys to buy it above sticker, I'm sure they weighed the pros and cons and decided to move forward anyway. You can actually benefit from these early adopters; they can provide info that a youtube video just won't cover, the quicker these cars hit the street is the quicker you will actually be able to buy it at or close to MSRP.

Let people enjoy things!

If someone wants to spend 20-30k ADM or more, that might not be something I would do, but also why would I ridicule them on a forum for it? I don't know their situation. If they wanna pay way over MSRP for a Type R, whether financially irresponsible for them or not, it's just not my place to really care about it.

I understand some feel that this is making the market worse for everyone who wants to only spend MSRP or 5k ADM at most (this is me) but I honestly don't think it has that much of an impact. This thread is valuable as a datapoint for what we can expect to deal with at dealers so coming in here to act like people's parents is super weird to me.

FWIW, I haven’t seen a single post ridiculing anyone. Unless sarcasm and some humor is an act of ridiculing?

Then again, Millennials are a very fragile bunch nowadays, so I can understand this is open to interpretation.

People post opinions. Since the discussion revolves around price, we can’t expect everyone to congratulate those who dropped $60-70k on a Civic.

Disclaimer: I’m one who will likely drop $60k on the Type R in the not so distant future.

This would have been better off as an anonymous Google form to fill out, where anyone can see the output/values in a spreadsheet.
I would be concerned about dealers entering fake high prices to make it seem like the market price is higher than it really is.

I've created this read-only sheet; if you're happy to DM me your MSRP, markup, accessories cost, taxes, and OTD cost, I'd be happy to maintain this for reference. It should keep things fairly clean and anonymous.

@randomFL5guy, would you be willing to post this file in your first post as well, and that way it can easily be referenced?
