The biggest complaint I keep hearing with modern turbo cars like the Type R, GRC, etc. is cooling. That’s the one area manufacturers should be overbuilding from the factory. Toyota added an extra radiator in one of the air ducts in the mid cycle refresh to the GRY/GRC. Not that it completely...
2027 isn’t happening, folks!
Apparently Europe got swallowed by an emissions panic and now everyone else is supposed to obediently copy paste the same nonsense, because obviously the entire planet has to run its decisions through Brussels first.
Please, hurry up and buy your Type Rs before...
All that bickering and all those “Honda would never wait this long” theories aged like milk.
Turns out Honda did exactly what everyone swore they wouldn’t do. And not just a little wrong, either. Like 90% of this thread was confidently, loudly wrong.
Now let’s hear the excuses…
The 2027...
You can disagree all you want, but their track record speaks for itself. I honestly can’t remember the last time Best Car Magazine out of Japan missed the mark. They nailed the GR Corolla renders years ago, long before anyone even knew what it was, and they did the same with the new Land Cruiser...
For decades BMW refused to slap an M badge on anything that didn’t truly earn it, until they finally sold out. Now the badge is on everything that moves because it prints money. AMG followed the same path.
I’m calling it now, there’s going to be a Prelude Type R. Even Best Car Magazine...
Next thing you know, some bumble***k country bans white paint or mandates rainbow seatbelts and the same geniuses will be on here preaching about how Honda is killing the Type R forever.
I’ve been ridiculed for years on here and elsewhere by a bunch of clowns because I kept saying there would be another year of the FL5 Type R. Back in 2023 people swore there wouldn’t be a 2024. Then they doubled down and said no 2025 either. And every time, they were wrong.
The truth is a lot...
No, there isn’t lol
Where’s this so-called proof? Previous Type R model years like 2023 and 2024 rolled over with zero spy shots or test mules. Nothing.
You’re just assuming MY26 has to be different, so you think the lack of mules somehow confirms it doesn’t exist. That’s not proof – that’s...
I’m not saying Honda copies Toyota – obviously, they’re different companies. My point is that both manufacturers routinely end production on different timelines depending on the market. Canada losing the Type R doesn’t mean global production is done. I can tell you for a fact that in some...
I’m 99.99% sure there’ll be a 2026 Type R. There’s zero actual proof suggesting otherwise – just a bunch of rumors with no receipts. The Canada discontinuation means absolutely nothing. Tons of recent Toyota models had completely different lifespans depending on the market, and Honda plays by...
So that settles it. There will be a 2026 Type R. And anyone out here cheering for its death just so their car can be the ‘final year’ that strokes their ego is in for a letdown.
I don’t subscribe to the idea that 2025 (or 2026) will mark the end of FL5 production—especially if this claim comes from the manufacturer or someone claiming to have ‘inside knowledge.’ Plus, I haven’t gotten mine yet, so obviously, I must be right…
Seriously though, manufacturers like Honda...
I strongly prefer the original by a landslide. The red is what truly defines the interior. Now, it just looks like an Si with aftermarket seats and parts. Good luck keeping that dash and other components clean.
It’s a downgrade in every way.
I haven’t, but I wish it were available in the US. I split my time between the US and Thailand, where I own the GR Yaris.
In the US, though, I prefer the Type R over the GR Corolla.
Agreed. The irony is, I actually like the Type R just as much as anyone here. After all, we’re all here for the same reason. But I think it’s important to have a reference point and bring other cars into the discussion for comparison. If anything, doing that only reinforces how great the Type R...
Wow, you’ve actually made it your goal to ‘target me’? What a spectacular display of obsessive, borderline deranged behavior. It’s pathetic that you get this worked up over someone who simply talks about cars. The fact that you’re so invested in trying to provoke me is just sad. Maybe it’s time...
Oh, of course, having an avatar of any car that isn’t a Type R must be a crime. God forbid anyone dare to appreciate cars beyond your sacred bubble. Once again, you’ve outdone yourself with this brilliant display of ignorance. Makes me wonder how you even make it through the forums without...
Surely, you meant the “S65” in your post.
The fact that he’s done hundreds of rod bearing jobs as ‘preventative maintenance’ doesn’t mean those hundreds would have failed—or that any of them would, for that matter. This is just another case of internet-fueled fear that’s been lucratively...
