Saw this posted and wanted to try it out, definitely works a lot better than the OEM charging pad, and doesn't slide around. Snaps into the "rails" of the charging pad.

I gave up trying to use the OEM pad or modify anything in that area as that's an awkward area to put a phone anyway. I ended up just using a Proclip mount and an Amazon charger/holder. The holder part works quite well. The charging part - not so much :( At least it's charging, albeit, very slowly instead of just heating up my phone with the OE pad.

my top choice is actually 275/35ZR19 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus

but will take at least a year or two before I'll need new tires.

the OEM tires have 4k miles on them. based on past experience with 07 FA5, both original OEM and various others, I do not expect the OEM tires to last more than 10k miles :)
I would do 275/30 or 275/35 too if the OE tire weren't so inexpensive! Unless something changes in pricing, I'll be sticking with the OE tire.

Since you're in SoCal, I would highly recommend the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 instead as it has much better performance than the DWS. We have it on my wife's S3 and loves it!

It rate the fit as….. just ok. Of you are OCD then it will fall short

Here’s a pic of just the front mocked up and all 3 sides mocked up.
I placed some painters tape on the front piece to give a guideline to how much to cut.
I think you could get away from cutting the driver side piece but I do also have the WOT hood struts installed so I will have to notch the end pieces regardless to fit those

The little nub with the blue painters tape on the middle sections doesn’t bother me as much as how the fitment with the right side piece doesn’t line up. Also having to notch them for the hood struts hurts a bunch too. I have those same hood struts. Thank you for this post. I’m going to hold off until there’s a solution or at least one that requires less modding.

I think if you made really precise and intentional clean cuts and got the pieces clear coated it would come out alright.

First world problems I guess...Yes, replacement tires on the CTR are expensive but not nearly as much as 35x13.50R24 truck tires. Fury Country Hunter (first PIC and tires suck) or Fuel Gripper MT (second PIC and tires are much better) mounted, balanced and installed on an F-150 will be North of $2K on all four corners.

The CTR fills a different want and purpose. Different fun factor and cheap to maintain in the grand scheme of things. Buy the best CTR tire that suits your driving habits and enjoy.

Not sure how this is going to look yet with my Yellow Valve cover. Just finished putting the turbo back together. Darn C clamp was really in there. Also did the T51R mod on it.

This guy on eBay sells various pieces https://ebay.us/m/Yauwkp , he takes those cheap fake carbon pieces and adds/glues the Alcantara over them . We’ll see how they hold up but I am happy so far. In my type s I went with real carbon for those pieces but wanted to try this out first as they were so cheap .
