Yes, there will be gaps. Go @Suma Performance if you want a full / direct replacement. Retains 100% heated functionality and bsi if you want too.
This is 100% accurate? I’m doubtful considering I had the Spoon side view for my FK8 previously. It covered the stock mirror completely. I did screw on the passenger side leaving it crooked. Otherwise the driver side sits perfectly over the stock mirror.
Is this the case with the Mugen one?

Did you look at the picture? You can see the gap clearly. I also had them for about 30 seconds and immediately took them off because of the gaps.

Yes I saw the picture. It’s hard to see with the angle. That’s terrible. I guess I’m not getting these in the near future.

I think the OP may have taken that angle to reduce the appearance of the gap but not sure. Here is a straight on that shows it a little better.

Wow, that looks awful! The photos on Spoon's website don't show the gap. What am I missing here?

If you line up the mirror cover over the OEM mirror, the gap is smaller (but still existent) and goes consistent all the way around the mirror. However, the BSI was off alignment and not useful. When you line up the BSI, you get a large gap on the left side (right side for passenger side mirror) and virtually no gap on the opposite side of the BSI.

Would assume there are imperfections in the manufacturing process, but that's my best guess, and they took the pick of the litter for the website pic.

I am just disappointed to see this. Usually Spoon parts fit like a glove in my experience.

I purchased my Spoon blue wide mirrors from Blackhawk Japan and got this fitment. Supposedly the ones from Spoon USA are different and provide full coverage for our USDM mirrors. You will lose the heated mirror function still as they are adhesive on to the existing mirror not a full replacement. The Part numbers on Blackhawk Japan and Spoon USA are different so it leads me to believe they made 2 sets for each market.

Great info, I also ordered through Black Hawk since usually a lot cheaper, so makes sense. Hopefully Spoon USA has better fitment if they're different.

The 2 part number thing tells me it will be solved, just haven't taken the $165 chance yet.

I pulled the trigger on the SUMA mirrors for a full replacement and love them. But if someone is going for a Spoon build, then that does not make as much sense.

Nice! They are a pretty straight forward install, but if you have any questions, shoot me a PM and I can help.
