This is the wheel I’m thinking of: 19x9.5 +55, but they offer it in +53 and + 45 also. I know that on 45 they sit flush with the fenders. Is there going to be a lot of difference between them? I look at the calculators they have on the internet, and +55 isn’t that“aggressive.“ I just saw the design on @Sporky McGeuschky Mita, like the brand, how it looks, and that you get the dial offset. They have various interesting models. I know the tariffs will make them a little expensive, but everything is calculated at checkout, and they take the guesswork out of what I will pay. I don’t know why other shops couldn’t do that. It is interesting, and you don’t need to be a financial and duties employee to know what you will pay.

Hi.
Yeah I really like my MITA Motorsports FKS wheels, although I went smaller than OEM, mostly for ride comfort, and to have room for high sidewalls to protect the wheels.

My FKS are 18X9.0 , ET +45 , Center Bore 64.1 .
I like how the ET +45 seems to be a very good balance between flush and tucked.

Time again for the TIRE DISCLAIMER:
I intentionally bought tires that are a little too tall, just to see if they would fit, for science.
While the 275/45 ZR18 technically fits, it definitely rubs.
45 sidewall is NOT RECOMMENDED.
I am definitely sizing down to a 40 sidewall for the next set of tires on my MITA FKS wheels.

Current setup:
MITA Motorsports FKS 18X9.0 ET +45 wheel on Pirelli P Zero 275/45 ZR18 tire. Yes, it rubs.

I love how easy MITA makes the selection and customization process for buying wheels.

One thing I will suggest @Evox787 :
If you are already gonna dedicate the time and money for high quality Japanese forged MITA wheels, why buy only 4? Why not spend the extra to have a full set of 5 matching wheels and tires?
Yes, it is a lot more money to buy 5 wheels, but then you will have a matching spare.
The peace of mind will be worth it.

EDIT:
It is a big decision to make.
Sleep on it and think about it...

Or just fuggin' SEND IT!!!

Cheers.

Hey! A +45 sounds good to me, and I figure if I try a 50 or somewhere around there, I probably won’t be happy with the fitment. Your idea really sounds great! I’m going to sleep on it and see what works best and what’s convenient for me. Also, @FL5HondaGuy, I’ve decided to stick with +45 on the wheels. I think 265/35 is a solid choice, but I’m just a little worried it might rub once I lower the car, and the roads here where I live aren’t that bad.

I’ll be changing wheels and tires on my FL5. I daily mine, and where I live gets cold but not freezing. For the information I gathered, the Pilot Sport 4s is rated to be safe to use no more than 40 degrees. I mainly use the highway with a couple of bridges, and the speed is 75-80. My question is, will I be keeping the 19” with 265/30/19? Is there much of a difference between the Pilot 4S and the Continental Extremecontact DWS 06+? I also will be lowering the car with H&R springs. This will be a performance decrease that I probably would not notice, and can I do spirited driving on them? Will I run into fitment issues like rubbing and such. Wheel I really don’t know, but it will go to be on the realm from 45 to 55mm.
Greetings..I bought Conti ExtremeContact dws 06 for my FLy after my 4s tyres finished their useful life @ about 9000 miles..The 06 is the perfect replacement..265/35/19..It works equally well at 5 degrees as it does at 100 degrees ambient..I could not think of a better choice for a daily, lowered or not.

Thanks for the suggestion—interesting! I didn’t know the useful life of the tire was 9k. Mine are almost at 30k, and they still measured 8/32 on the last tire rotation I did. Wow! I’ll definitely look into the 35 on the Continental, because it’s not like I’ll be using them the whole winter. Whenever I see temperatures below 30 degrees, I don’t drive at all 😂. People in Texas can be a little reckless!

My driving is basically highway driving on straight lines. It’s not like we get Northern States winters in Texas, but I just want a better daily update. Also, I’d rather avoid dealing with reverse mounting the wheels.

Just a side note. With a 265/35 even if you are lowered you won't rub (unless you plan on slamming it which I take it you are not going to do). For reference, I am lowered on H&R's, run a 35 profile tire with H&R spacers (+40 in the front and +35 in the rear) with zero issues. Cheers .

I’ll be running H&R too is the one that lowered but not too much! Because my driveway is too steep to run swift or spoon.

I could have gone to 10000 miles on my 4s, but they were melted and ragged looking..very noisy on the slab..I woke up one morning, in 1975, in Amarrilo, only to find the slab to Colorado closed due to a blue northern dumping two feet of snow in a few hours..I was on my H-D Sporthog, had it in the motel room..I started it, warmed it up with the door open..hit the slab, and 11 hours later , I was home, in Ft Collins..I got around the troopers at the slab entrance because the snow was blowing so hard, they did not see me or hear my straight pipes as I headed north, to Raton Pass, and on into Colorado..It was not a pleasant trip..I had my Air Force duffel bag strapped over the rear fender, a pack on the front forks and me in the middle..Temps were around 20 with 30 mph Northern winds blowing directly into my face shield..I didn't turn off the engine till I parked it in Ft Collins.

Very descriptive recollection there.
I didn't believe your tale... until you brought up starting your chopper inside the motel room.
Then I knew it was a true story.
Stay warm out there on the slab.

Cheers.

It wasn't a chopper..it was a 1971 Sportster XLCH that I bought new at Boise H-D, in April of 1971..When I went to England, later that year, I shipped it over so I could use it there as well.

Boise HD, was that Cycle Nuts and Bolts? Or was that too early for them to be the HD dealer? Do you recall what street the dealership was on?

That was a long time ago..Maybe High Plains H-D..on State Street maybe?? I was stationed at Mt Home AFB and wanted to trade my 1971 Kawasaki H1 in for the Sportster before I deployed to East Anglia for 5 years..You can see I have the XLH 4 gallon fuel tank and the H-D Sport fiberglass seat as well..I paid $2100 for it..rode it 85000 miles..sold it to a nurse at the Ft Collins hospital..She spent serious $$$ on it, choped it ..a beautiful, well built chopper.

That could’ve very well been it! It was a bit too early for me to recollect at only 7 years old. I think my earliest memory of a HD dealer was cycle nuts & bolts on Chinden, in Garden City.

With the very minimal rain that we get, I'll take my dry traction advantages of the PS4S 95% of the time over the 5% of the time when we do get rain and need wet traction - JMHO. Also, it's not like the PS4S suck in the wet either unless they're bald.
I drove the PS4S in the recent heavy rains on Los Angeles freeways.

Was fairly impressed, only one instance of slight hydroplaning, shallow puddle, at about 65mph (everyone was driving fairly slow), I also did not push it, as I did not know what to expect from the tires.

btw, SoCal drivers indeed don't know how to drive in the rain, I saw several cars that lost it and were on the side of the freeway embankment...

Yet I will still consider the DWS 06+ for mostly practical reasons

I am not planning to track my FL5, yet the way I drive my tires last a fraction of the mileage warranty. last set on my previous 07 FA5 Si lasted only 14k miles, and with the prorated warranty, I got a new set for 1/3 of the price... so it makes cents for me to go with a tire with a fairly high mileage warranty.
