Looking at the RigMetal - Low cost sim rig chassis cockpit setup. Compatible with whatever seat and wheel/pedal I want. Currently just a G923 I've had for a few years. Don't want to go too crazy as I am not sure the amount of time I'll have for this. I think I could end up with a workable setup for about $1k. Seems reasonable? Anyone have feedback on this brand?

I've used the cheapest rigmetal (they're local to me fortunately, i picked it up from the owner same day) for a little over a year now, 0 regrets, 0 flex, love it, would do it again.

interesting he said motion rigs are slower
and sim racing is 95% similar except for the G-Forces....for me it's like 75%, maybe 60% similar ..maybe that's why i'm slow lolol

Makes sense motion makes you slower and yeah I am with you more like 75%, its tough not to feel the car in the seat

VR they say also makes you slower. Most of the fast drivers are on smallish (24-27") flat screens

I feel like vr won’t make you slower but its just more annoying since these guys are playing hours on end. But maybe refresh rate has something to do with it too

12 hrs of Bathurst...one of my fave MotoGP riders, Valentino Rossi, is racing it with his BMW Team.

This track is in GT7 and it's crazy, and looks even crazier in IRL. Looks true to form as in the game

it's hilarious actually, I ninja edited it lol...but yeah the track actually looks like GT7 with all the crazy elevation and narrow track width.

Typically in iRacing in a Friend League or on AC running whatever local track I want to work on. Our local mod for Ridge is pretty epic, but the FL5 mods are pretty bleh

Yeah the FL5 I downloaded is not great, wish someone would make something a little better. Is there any fwd car you like using thats a bit more faithful to being fwd lol

I just suck it up and use it. I have to use semi-slick or the car is basically undriveable, but the grip differential between the two tire options is SO dramatic.

I'd also like something LHD...really fucks with my visuals
