Man, I don't remember the CMP curbs being that bad, but I was also in my old Supra on a very nice set of JRZ RS Pro 3 Ways, so kind of just ate everything up without much care ?

I think you'll find the V730 a nice balance between the NT01 and something like a 71RS. Sacrifice some life for some extra grip, while still having a tire that can handle abuse. The ECF has been nice as well -- I've done 7? days on them this year and they look great. Lower grip than the V730, but hyper communicative and consistent, but like the grip of the 71RS in optimal window is intoxicating

I still can't believe Nitto makes the NT01...it's been like 20 years without an update ?

Lol Yes! The Nitto is super old technology, but they can take such a huge beating! I think that's why I liked them so much! Bombed every curb, drifted through turns, and they always came back for more!

When was the last time you were at VIR? I feel like I've been out there with you before.

I’m actually running 255 35 R19 AO52’s on the OEM wheels and I’m loving it!! I bomb all the curbs at my local tracks with no problems. Also, the tight fitting Advans make the steering input more reactive as well.

A052 love a little pinch! So not surprising . Lots of Camber + Pinch is a Yoke's happy place!

Ugh, so long now. Probably March 2021? I moved out to Seattle at the end of 2022, and had focused all of 2021 and 2022 on SCCA Regional and National TT -- so that March would have been SCCA TTNT 2021 at VIR where I put down a very forgettable 2:03. I missed the 2022 SCCA NCR TT because of the snow on Saturday before event, and I sadly never made it back to run my Sub 2:00. At least that car is still out there and has done a 1:54 now with its new owner and a bigger turbo, so it's still living its best life.

Yea new owner runs NASA MA almost exclusively, so probably there! It was okay, but it should have been at least a 2:01. It was just a downpipe + tune A90 with basic aero at that point. Had it close, and then fuel starved in Hog Pen in the last session that killed the chance. I was driving a dumb school line through T4-5 that was chopping up too much time.

I wonder if head porting/cams would help with heat on track. More efficiency = less heat. More ignition advance = less heat.

Bigger turbo helps too. I'm sure you're correct with the porting because you're creating efficiency, and less work to make the same "target" power.

The engine build is tentatively scheduled for this Saturday, provided I can obtain all of the final parts needed for assembly!

Any of you guru's have any recommendations for break-in oil? Something with a high zinc content?

This may be old school, but this has been my process in the past:

First oil fill is with nonsense garbage conventional oil, and is used for the first engine start. After running the engine for a few minutes to burp the coolant you then drain that oil, and replace the filter with a new one, and then fill up with a break-in oil and run on that oil for 500-1000 miles. Then you drain that oil and replace the filter and move on to regular oil.

Nothing wrong with the current one in the car, but I had been amassing these parts, and they were to be installed in the white car before I crashed.

I'm looking to create an extremely reliable 400-425hp pump gas engine. The cylinder head will be capable of 9,000 rpms should an accidental money shift occur, and the bottom end is rated for 850hp, which means I get to bring in the boost sooner without worrying about damage to the rods.
