Recently became a member for Amsoil and got a newsletter. The engine build is tentatively scheduled for this Saturday, provided I can obtain all of the final parts needed for assembly!
Any of you guru's have any recommendations for break-in oil? Something with a high zinc content?
This may be old school, but this has been my process in the past:
First oil fill is with nonsense garbage conventional oil, and is used for the first engine start. After running the engine for a few minutes to burp the coolant you then drain that oil, and replace the filter with a new one, and then fill up with a break-in oil and run on that oil for 500-1000 miles. Then you drain that oil and replace the filter and move on to regular oil.
They have some high zinc oil
