Is it normal for the sheet metal strip to have bubbles? Just found out today. Position by the door.

I found a bunch of manufacturing quirks and imperfections already. As long as there are no leaks or serious issues, I wouldn't worry about it. It'll just drive you crazy ?

That part isn't sheet metal. That's a bead of paint sealer applied during the paint manufacturing process. It probably is just a small hit mark or crack during the process when the sealer was curing after being applied. Happens quite a bit. Nothing to worry about unless it visually bothers you.

Yeah, that’s seam sealer. Keeps water from staying in the seam and rotting out the sheet metal. Japanese quality is still doing it right.

Not sure if my car has those bubbles, but good to know they’re no problem if I spot any. Thanks for posting.

Overall no major issues with QA here either, though I’ll admit I was expecting things (mainly some attention to detail stuff) to be a little better too. My ‘09 Si was about as flawless as possible. Perhaps I lucked-out. With the FL5 being a better car and built in Japan, my expectations were quite high.

I’ll get around to addressing the minor stuff in the fall when it’s more comfortable to be fiddling around in the garage. Until then, I’ll continue to enjoy the car and not let things drive me crazy. Hope others do the same!?

It's not over spray, they don't clear coat the inside of the doors anymore, probably cost cutting. Stop doing that years ago on civics and it carried over to other models. Same with the engine bay, notice how it's all matte and rough texture, no clear, and little paint.
