Did any of you feel a difference? I read mixed reviews since the strut towers are right by the firewall. I been eye-balling the Cusco for a while.
I’ve wondered too bro. I can’t help but think there’s no advantage or disadvantage to running one. Since the car doesn’t lose camber in turns, why lock both sides so they can help brace each other in turns? U know? Making things more rigid, for what exactly?

hopefully someone has data. I know adding one to a nd Miata literally does nothing due to the camber gaining ability of the double wishbone set up in the front.

either way. Looks cool

I can say I didn’t feel much difference with a FSB. With the strut towers being attached to the fire wall on these cars they have much less flex up top than the older Hondas of past.
But you know already. Old habits die hard….😀

I felt the most difference in chassis stiffness and flex reduction by adding the Spoon Front stiff plate.

Locking the chassis to the front subframe, no one can even question its functionality

my beef with the spoon plate is the price. She do look pretty tho

I feel more vehicle response in the steering wheel and less jolt going over speed humps, it's weird. Like more feedback, but less harsh feedback. If that makes sense. Lane changing at 80mph is snappier, if only slightly, but no where near what it was like when I added a bar to my 2017 EX. That felt like a different car after. At this point, 10,000 miles later, I don't even notice it. It's a cosmetic carbon bar at this point.

I haven't tried it on the type r yet, but I had every bit of chassis bracing on my FL2 (minus the spoon stiff plate).

I felt the biggest difference removing the power brace under the strut towers, and the second biggest removing the rear strut bar. The front strut bar did the least imo.

Difference is minimal. the only real way to tell is drive the car spiritedly before install then go back on the same road after and feel the slight changes. It's their but unless you're really in tune then it'll go unnoticed for the most part.

The Cusco FSB was the first mod I did for my FL5, it adds a good bit of engine bay "bling" as well.

Hey, has anyone here installed these strut bars and noticed an increase in noises like cracking or binding? I have the Sirimoto, and it’s probably just the way that one fits into the car. Maybe if it were fully bolted onto the strut tower, those noises wouldn’t be as noticeable. I torqued it to 45 ft-lbs, but I’m not sure if that’s right. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this, because once I removed it, the noises went away.

Normal. Had the bar on a few cars. On my srt4 acr it did a gnarly creak but only when I went up the driveway slowly. Freaking sounded spooky as hell 😂

as far as that tq value. No idea bro. Sorry. My people just tighten till our ancestors say stop

Yeah, my Evo never did that before, and neither did my previous Hondas. Regarding the torque, I started using it after I got trained and learned what it was. Before that, it was still “lefty tighty” converted to “lefty loosey,” or “lefty stays in your hand.” 🤣

Oooh gotcha. I’d wait and see what other folks say then in regards to that tq value. Just in case.

that’s crazy. My evo 9 mr would creak too! 😂

No noise from the Cusco. Torqued the top hat nuts and bar bolts to Cuscos specifications that were included.
