I really hope the Type R LE keeps the rear seats intact. Removing them would defeat the purpose of it being a 4-door car. Honestly, I think it’s a misguided choice. It reminds me of the GR Corolla Morizo, which IMO is an absurd concept. If you’re going to remove the back seats, just make a coupe. Otherwise, stick with the 4-door design and keep the rear seats.

It wont be +$150k lol. They already have a turn key race car variant of this and its less than that ($120k). Its two steps below a GT4 (GT4 > TCR > TC) so its a bit cheaper and more close to the roading going ITS. If they ever do sell this my guess would be that it would around $70k or $80k. If they ever decide to make it a production car it'll basically be the street legal variant of the TCX Race car.

I made a post about the car and you can look at the brochure here and here to get an idea of what modifications that will be done to the suspension and engine. Not much is done to the engine.

I'm not really sure exactly what their plans are with doing this was. My hope is that they are trying to amp up their parts catalog and make it easier for customers to buy racing parts similar to what Mazda or Ford Performance has with their cars. Offer the production car but till give owners the ability to purchase parts from HRC. With the FK8 you couldn't buy parts or 'upgrades' that the FK8 TC.

Just when I finished paying off my CTR now they release this lol ?
Fair point, and I'd seen the race car but they haven't disclosed what they did to the engine (or I just skimmed that part), and I just measured it based on what I thought the GT4 cars would typically go for, which is north of $200k. I just assumed it would get the same treatment as the race car, but instead of pure race bits like the stripped out interior you get a bunch of carbon fiber and an A/C delete... but I guess $150k might be a bit of a stretch.

That said, $70k is far too low. Paint and carbon pieces alone would justify that... This car seems to have a LOT more going for it than the FK8 LE, which IIRC was basically firmer suspension and a different tune? Different color? This feels like a different car than the base Type S.

In any case the point is moot because this car is almost definitely not going to be made available for purchase, I think that's clear now.

you don't just turn cars into coupes, it does not work like that. The point is that they can have the same exact car without having to re-manufacture anything. Not to mention testing. Changing the kind of car would have to have the car re-crash tested and basically have to go through all the stuff for the car to be legally sold, its not as simple as hey just get rid of the door and you are good to go.

Also at least on the Integra the 4 doors make sense with the tire rack system in the back seat (which is very cool).

I do wish the integra had a half cage, if you are going to remove the back seat put a half cage in there. Yes it would loose the tire rack system but a half cage would allow you to use the buckets properly.

I dont think they can do much given the regulations and tbh with the TCX most of the modifications done to it are really minor.

Fair enough, the jump in pricing from FL5 to ITS is pretty big so it'll probably be the same

Im just more interesting in HRC finally opening up a parts catalog where you can buy from them directly and since its from the TCX the parts should be legit

The bad thing about those ballade calipers are that they are a chinese off brand. Wish they were actually brembo’s.
This is true, it doesn’t bother me as much because Brembo does some manufacturing in China and they’ve been on their FK8 that they track for a few years.

From someone who had 6 pot brembos on my previous car (m2 competition). They looked cool sure and the brake performance was great but they were heavy as crap (btw bigger rotor, carliper and heavier pad). Then just like that ballad sports caliper, to change the pads you have to remove the caliper and take the pads from the bottom. It really is not worth it for that design of caliper (which is a brembo copy). If I am going to get a 6 pot I will pick AP or even paragon where you can easily remove pads and you are not getting such a big weight penalty. To be honest, the 4 pot that comes with the car is enough for 99.5% of the people.

70k? lol no way, something like this would be closer to 90-100k, its got way too many changes to just be 18k more than a Type S. The seats alone look like Recaro podium which are almost like 4 grand a pop. All the extra other stuff and the fact that it will be seriously limited, it will be way more than 70k.

Personally i doubt they will be releasing this car at all. Its very cool but I think they are probably taking a page out of BMW performance part business and will be selling some of the parts separately
I mean it’s all speculation. Keep in mind that they are basically removing some existing Type S parts and replacing them with better parts. So it’s not exactly the same as taking a Type S “touring” and adding parts to it. There’s some subtraction too. Know what I mean? This car won’t list for more than the list price of a decked BMW M2 Comp. I just don’t see it happening, IF it even happens period.

My hunch is since they went and made it pretty, it'll be a limited production street car, like an s209. Few of the parts would require lots of development time, but a little engineering for aesthetic parts.
The TC parts are for the TC program, they actively support buyers and want close feedback, low production. Retail would be an annoyance because retail customers complain and ask for refunds/warranty over small things. It is weird they show parts in the same website everybody else has to shop through.
