Just wanted to touch on something @savagegeese mentioned that I didn't consider before. Overall quality of the OEM seats and in particular dye transfer and maintenance. Have any of the FL5 or FK8 owners experience dye transfer or any other quirks with these seats? What do you do for upkeep?

A separate thread for this seemed appropriate. Curious to hear thoughts.

Not yet. I’ve put almost 4000 miles on mine and refuse to drive with seat covers. Even wearing dark jeans seems to be fine so far.

I did not treat the seats with anything as I was concerned about it changing the texture or color of the fabric.

I did just clean my driver's seat for the first time. I used SONAX Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner with a microfiber towel and the Sonax brush. It's comes out as a foam so when I first applied it to the seat, it put a dark, wet "stain" on the seats that kind of had me freaking out for a while, but then it dried.

It has a lemon scent and has been widely regarded as the best Alcantara cleaner you can buy. My seats weren't exactly dirty by any means but were starting to get a little smell to them as I sometimes sit in the seats in basketball shorts after working out.

The Sonax did a great job, no staining, so I would recommend using that if you are going to clean your seats.

I haven't done anything special to treat my seats as I thought it best to leave well enough alone. I expect them to stay in excellent condition since I'm mindful and don't do anything wild in the car. I vacuum as necessary and use the blower. I also haven't noticed any quirks or dye transfer of any kind. I don't have a ton of miles on the car so I would defer to others on that.

FWIW, the seat material is not Alcantara. It may or may not matter, but thought it may be helpful to call out.

I used bissel pro max clean + protect in my spot carpet cleaner and worked really well. No dye transfer or any issues so far just basic standard detailing.

Do you guys ever let one rip? - Curious if that affects the seat fabric.
I told myself I wouldn't fart in this car and that lasted about two months. I do try my best though to not fart in the car, afraid of sharting on the fabric.

@savagegeese your input is required on the fecal resistance of the fabric.
