I'm at a point where I'm MSRP or bust. If I can't get one, I'll just drive my is350 into the ground and save for a Cayman (6cyl only) or a 911. The only thing that may sway me is a $4k under MSRP Integra or something, which is not unheard of from what I understand.
Got it! IF automatic, i am eye balling the IS 350 too (not a bad idea)! Any feedbacks in between these two?

Hi thanks for your inputs. The ITS is still costing more than the CTR. I feel CTR will hold a better value then ITR?
If you have to pay $3k markup on the CTR or if you can get $4k under MSRP for the ITS, then it's a wash and you'll be getting a car with more features and a longer warranty with the ITS! As far as which car will hold its value better, your guess is as good as mine. Unless you plan to flip it, I wouldn't be too concern about projecting future values. All it takes is some texting teenager to rear end you, and all the projected values goes out the window! If you enjoy driving it, just buy the one with the best value.

FYI - you might even get better paint on the ITS. The CTR is notoriously known for its bad thin paint - see my rant here => Paint rant | CivicXI - 11th Gen Civic Type R (FL5), Hybrid, Si Forum, News, Owners, Discussions

I've driven the ITS, CTR, GR Supra, M2 (F87 DCT), M2 (G87 manual), IS500, Cayman S (manual), and GR86. The IS500 and 350 just feel like nicer and faster luxury-oriented sporty-ish cars. The 500 just does it with a better sound profile. They're "squishy" in the corners and feel heavy and planted. The CTR was so firm, crazy firm. I would definitely get an ITS suspension module if I got one. I hit a big bump on the test drive and it made me feel nauseous, similar to a time where I hit a bump in the road on my motorbike, really surprising. Handling was great, shifter was a bit vague (gates feel great, but it's soooo light and it doesn't feel quite "mechanical" enough), car overall felt very planted and well-paced. The ITS felt a bit better to me in roadholding because it wasn't bouncing everywhere, but switching the module should resolve that. The CTR interior feels special, whereas the ITS interior feels like a normal car.

Happy to talk about the other cars elsewhere if you like, but I will say that the Miata shifter felt quite nice, exactly what I'd want given the option of pulling the best from every car. I actually preferred that driving experience to the Cayman bc it was more fun at lower speeds. Nothing in the Cayman was entertaining to me until I hit 80 on an on ramp.

I had a 1991 Miata in 90s with manual. if you are referring to that type of shifting experience, of course nice. I dont have a chance to test drive CTR or even ITS. I just feel CTR is more unique than ITS.
If i cant find a CTR with a reasonable mark up in Northern CA (less than $2500); i may give up and just grab a Gr Corolla (Core). What are your opinions for the GRC? Thanks

DE5s are going for $5k under MSRP here in South Florida quite regularly, making them cheaper than the FL5 in South Florida with a longer warranty.
Ugh! If only the ITS came with CTR's front seats and "race" gauge display. In some ways I feel like they are charging more while giving less on the things I want / find important. Its $7k up charge over CTR is so ridiculous that it's only justifiable by CTR's dealer ADM... sigh

Never driven a GRC because I don't feel they offer enough at the price point, at least for the trims I'd be interested in. And I want a livable interior, which the other cars offer. Hard to stomach $48k for a Corolla, even if it's a very cool one. Used for $30k might be manageable in my mind.

Agreed - The hard part for me is that the ITS interior is just an Integra interior, while the Type R gets unique seats, carpet, interior badging, performance information, molded body panels vs the tacked-on of the Integra. I vastly prefer the curves of the Type R vs the "widebody kit" look

I test drove a new GRC couple months back while cross shopping. I came away very disappointed. The interior feels really cheap (probably because it is). Its sitting position is almost like that of a truck. Notably gutless until the rev gets up above 4k RPM. The clutch is quite heavily sprung so much so I had a difficult time rev matching on shifts - I am sure it's something one could get used to but it doesn't come natural. The gearbox feels mushy. I don't have any feedback on its handling ability because the test drive consisted of circling a few blocks around the dealership LOL. About the only thing I like about it is its foot print is close to that of an EG Civic.

I had a far better driving experience in a previously used-and-abused Veloster N.

Not saying you're wrong, but maybe it's one of those things where you have to thrash it to have fun. The GRC was the "fun" favorite for the two in this comparison, commentary found starting at the 17-minute mark:

Back to the current FL5 market, $5k markups can be found everywhere, but I think $1-2k should be very doable if you walk in ready to make a deal that day. I think I'd be ok with MSRP+$500 for a tint or something, maybe that and door edge guards.

Just browsed motoringobsession. All the inventory in the bay area and west coast seem to have dried up. However, the east coast inventory appeared to have exploded for some reason!

Yeah, the last shipment of 2025 model years are on their way to the east coast. West coast deliveries happen much faster since the Japan shipment runs straight to California. When you look at the "in transit" settings on MotoringObsession, and then toggle dates on "new since", you will see the very last 2025 shipment occurred on 8/12. The latest pulled data on 8/19 showed no new allocations, likely meaning Honda is switching over to the 2026s. I think between right now and the next two weeks, we will hear about the 2026s.

Last year's 2025 model year announcement happened Sept 1 2024. Which was essentially just a price increase. Wondering if we will hear on Sept 1st timeframe about the 2026s

My Massachusetts car was delayed like almost a month, I and my salesman both think it was related to Trump lowering the Japan tariff. The car magically showed up a week or so after he did that. So maybe the East Coast is getting flooded with cars held back to get the lower tariff?

The GRC was also too cramped but rear seats and trunk. It was also hard to believe it's the same price as the Type R.

Same here on the ITS, also I don't like the extra 5" length for no reason.

My wife thought she might like to replace her CVT Civic with something that had a 6MT. She's owned three Si-s over the years, so I looked for another one locally.
In the Northeast, there are more FL5s around than Si-s. A bit of a surprise because the '26 Si is now current.
