Hi,

Aside from wheel locks, mats, trunk tray, maybe some window visors, any other little knick knacks I might want for the Type R?

Currently I plan to keep her stock (warranty,) except I want to try the DE5 suspension module probably.

Also, is there some feature to disable deep in the menu that makes the computer less burdened? (programs/apps running in the background.)

This will be my first Type R and my first black car. That’s enough cherries to start.

I'm not sure if this is still an issue but some people were experiencing glitching/visual artifacts and lag when using CarPlay that was resolved by disabling the navigation application while in developer mode.

Manually disabling the built in navigation does speed up the headunit quite a bit but it makes google maps navigation stop working at least on Android phones.

Get yourself a quality OBD2 lock like this:

OBD2 port is the primary way FL5s are stolen.

The dealer wants $56.894.73 to drive off the lot. They promised not to drill the front bumper to install the license plate

this includes window tint, nitrous wheels, wheel locks, trunk tray, alcantera steering wheel, leather shift knob, illuminated door accessories.

I’m talking to a second dealer to see if they can do me better than $56.8k

the very first dealer I talked to wanted $58k with no accessories so I found this other black Type R with accessories up the wazoo for $56.8k

what does everyone think? Fair deal for a rare car? I’m not getting a steal on this, but am I getting taken to the cleaners and ripped off? Black is a rare color like red on the Type R. Champion White and Boost Blue are pretty, easy to find. This black edition Type R is so hard to find!!

First, welcome! Great decision in pursuing an FL5, you won't regret it. And nice line up of formers cars. A few observations:

1. Yes, they are attempting to fleece you. Nothing about this is a decent deal. I suggest you find another dealership. It's MSRP now just like it was in 2022. This appears to be around $5K over sticker.
2. This is not a rare car, it's a mass produced commuter car. This rare car nonsense is a dealership talk track and doesn't serve the client well.
3. For future reference, I would not pay the dealership a red cent for the accessories. None of them are port installed and you can do much better purchasing what you want post-sale a la carte.
4. Don't be afraid to buy out of state for a good deal. It's not nearly as daunting as it seems or how it's made to be.

There are some knowledgeable folks here. If you have questions you will get good perspectives so ask away. Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for at a fair price.

Congrats on your decision!
I see that the leather knob has not been installed so leave that off. The wheel locks are worthless so leave those overpriced lug nuts off, as you want Advance wheel locks, or nothing at all. Rear tray, meh. I have one, but could live without it. Door sills may be too late to remove, but if not, they’re MEH too!! Steering wheel looks like it is too late. Nitrous/Nitrogen filled tires is a dealership scam- have that charge removed, then upon delivery drive to Costco, use the nitrogen pumps next to the tire shop (deflate your tire, reinflate with nitrogen).

What is the sales tax rate in your area? This is a factor that needs to be taken into account in that will have to be paid no matter the car/location it is purchased.
Good luck with your purchase, knowing it is okay to walk away. It’s your money that the dealership is trying to separate you from.

Yep, no reason to pay over MSRP anymore. If it's like mine was, they've already tinted the windows, but it doesn't look like they've installed any other accessories so don't agree to anything else. If they've already added tint I'd offer MSRP + $600. That's a good deal for them and a good deal for you if this is the color you want.

Fair out the door offer for both sides- 51890

I'd offer 52k out the door if it's tinted and you really want Black.

I will keep talking to multiple dealers, out of state also this week, and I will add the red Type R to choose between either the black Type R so I can find one for MSRP 47,090 + TTL / doc fee + destination / no accessories

I will keep hunting until someone bites at MSRP and hopefully I will have pics of the new car to show next week!

Do NOT pay over MSRP. You don't have to. I spent about a month calling on dealers within 8 hours driving distance of my home in NE FL and found my Rallye Red CTR at sticker + 699 doc fee. If you are persistent with calling dealers and letting them know you are a serious buyer but must be at MSRP, you will strike a deal relatively fast and easily.

I have one dealer offering a Rallye Red Type R for no less than $68,000 (one of a kind! The guy said)

another dealership told me if I sign before end of 3rd quarter, he will take $1,000 off MSRP Red Type R

I won’t believe it until I see the final offer sheet

I’m still shooting for crystal black.
