Every time when the car crowd discusses lbs saving, I just think we can (most of us) just lose that weight and it would be more beneficial.
for sure....that would help, but we also don't sit on the nose of the car.

for most people, it's not a big deal. I think the biggest issue with the fattyboi intercoolers, at least to me, is the weight penalty in conjunction with reducing airflow to the radiator.

I only say this in humor because I remember when I was into modding my road bike, I wanted some carbon fiber parts and my wife asked me why? I said it looks cool and I can save X-amount of weight in grams. She was like what?! Just lose weight.

I know this is from Bangkok, but if we could get someone to translate there's probably some good information in this video.

So the video was informative. The Wagner was about 25C /77F cooler than stock IC or "internet" as google translated it. Guess intercooler isn't in its dictionary. Also wagner alone vs stock IC increased power +16HP/+25 ft-lbs tq on their dyno

The coolant temps were even with stock until about the 4th run when the coolant with the wagner was about 4C/39F hotter. They say the cause could be due to the wagner dissipating so much heat and the radiator is right behind it, it eventually made the fluid hotter.

The IATs were stable and much cooler than stock the entire time. stable ~77F cooler IATs are a great thing. Paired with an upgraded rad, it would work well with and keep the coolant temps in check as well.

Data like this throws a big red flag for me. When I see something this outlandish I find it difficult to trust anything else coming from that source. I have personally completed over 200 FL5 dyno pulls using several different intercoolers and am 110% confident that you cannot just bolt on an intercooler and magically make more power. Intercoolers are not a power adder, but they can help you maintain your power "under stress" (high heat conditions). Whether this is flawed testing (most likely) or intentional deception is yet to be determined.

with ya on that, and obviously some things are lost in translation, but it does seem to be after a number of runs.

HPS also claims some big gains from just changing the pipes and that one I am like ?

Yeah I was going to mention hps. Also MDR claims big gains with their intercooler and pipes.
