Here is the dyno of the HKS IC with their pipes that show minimal gains...which is what you would expect to see

I think it’s after the Wagner sticker and HPS sticker they supply.

The upcoming RV6 intercooler has some newfangled type of core, according this Facebook page (they updated the description a few posts down):

It’s called something like “tube and square extrusions” and is supposed to be a kind of mix between the bar and plate, and tube and fin designs.
Not sure if this is a gimmick or not. Maybe someone else can weigh in with more knowledge.

They make a good product. I have their hoses on my Miata and they seem on the up and up.

just not sure about the claimed +13 Whp , torque +16.6 Ft/lbs
the horsepower claim is definitely BS, they definitely expand less than the OEM hoses which means the turbo has to do less work to maintain boost levels.

I was tracking the RV6 but ordered the J's Racing Hyper Intercooler instead. It appears that they are both using the same type of core designed by DRL.

They use a hybrid of the 2 major intercooler designs. Its supposed to give the best of both worlds without the weight penalty of a bar and plate intercooler. Probably should've waited since the RV6 is going to be way cheaper than the J's Racing

Very interesting if the core is the same - RV6 will be less than half the price I think.

The endtanks on the J's unit are interesting. Perhaps they were wanting to limit overall volume. Definitely not the Wagner approach! At the end of the day there is no one design that is perfect for all applications. It is nice to have options.

The Facebook page I linked a few posts ago says between $600-800.

Sounds like it’ll be a good deal if it performs well.

That’s supposed to be a great intercooler! Please let us know how it performs!

You are correct...The RV6 intercooler description sounded similar to the J's Racing one (jointly developed with DRL) but they are not the same core. For example, the RV6 intercooler has 14 tubes whereas the the J's Racing has 10 tubes.

I'm still happy with my decision to go with the J's Racing intercooler. Here is a short video that compares the HKS and DRL intercoolers for the FL5:
