Ok guys we can have all the wet dreams we want about this exhaust but and I quote "At this time Akrapovic has not announced any plans to do a system for the FL5 Type R. I don't have details on the system that was at the salon but if you have images to share with me I can try to get additional info for you"
It comes from Turn 14 because I contacted them through their website, guess they are the distributor on the USA

They wouldn't. It was just debuted on a concept car from the manufacturer. Pretty sure I don't recall Borla making an announcement when the same situation unfolded for the HRC Type S...? But they ended up making it anyway because why go through the R&D if you have no plans to bring it to market?

Still don't think any of this is "wet dream" inducing but facts are facts, and that car appears to clearly have an Akrapovic symbol on the exhaust.

Expecting a parts distributor to have any details regarding something you can actually buy, that's an entirely different conversation. That basically equates to a "shadowdrop"... and that wouldn't be where I'd place my expectations at all.

The Borla exhaust on the HRC Type-S is a different 3" system than the current offering for our DE5 because the latter is actually just the FL5 exhaust they've already had out. They just had to work on lengthening it and dealing with the additional resonator.

It was also actually used in motorsport where I'm not sure about the Civic.

Regardless, none of us actually know anything. We should just title this thread "Akrapovic speculation thread" and watch it grow to 50+ pages with zero actual intel to feed off of.

Can we argue about oil too?

I’m sorry, master, that you’re the know-it-all. My contact was directly through the AKRA website, who replied to my email was turn 14, acknowledging the statement I copied before on the comment. Because manufacturers don’t make one car just to showcase what their capabilities of manufacturing are, but sure, buddy, because the car has the exhaust, that’s a fact that the exhaust will be out. For that same reason, the people saw the Harley Davidson Bronx, and we have millions of them in manufacturing right now… oh, that right there, the production was canceled in case you don’t know.

Cant you just contact Akrapovic and ask what the estimated price and if it will be in production?

I sent Akrapovic an email using their website. Turn 14 Distribution responded for them and said:

Thank you for reaching out, at this time we do not have a response from Akrapovic on the possibility of R&D on this though they are certainly seeing and hearing the excitement. Once I have their 2026 R&D schedule I will update you if the Type R is in fact on it and what the timeframe may be looking like.

For what its worth I emailed them directly in Slovena. The answer

"Thank you for contacting us. We don't have any information to share about the exhaust system, but we'll keep the community up to date as information becomes available."

Such a copy paste response from them. But that's what I would expect lol.

"We don't have any information about the exhaust system....but we did make it and install it on the car..." LOL

I'll be surprised if anything is announced this year for that. I'm holding off on an exhaust until all options are released. So 2030 I guess lol haha.
